Launches 1st November.

GameStop UK will exclusively sell a Classic White 320GB PlayStation 3 from 1st November.

The machine packs two white DualShock 3 controllers and costs Ł250.

A spokesperson for GameStop UK told Eurogamer the consoles will definitely be available online. The website confusing lists "possible" next to "online" currently.

GameStop stores in Ireland and in Europe - as well as Micromania and EB Games Australia - will also exclusively stock the White PS3.

Classic White? What Sony devices have classically been white? If anything, the only 'Classic' Sony colour is grey; from the PS1 era.

It should be relabelled 'Cigarette Tar and Finger Grime Magnet White'.

BTW there are a lot of Gamestops in Belfast as well as GAME, in the space of a 10 minute walk you could walk past 3 GAMEs and 2 Gamestops. Has been that way for years there so I'm surprised they aren't around the rest of UK so much.

Online people, there is a Gamestop Uk website, get with the programme. One of the Gamestops in Belfast closed its doors six months ago. There was 3 or 4 in England but they are gone now due to poor business.

The fact that I've heard nothing but complaints from US customers, and the fact that they charge your card immediately for Pre-orders have put me totally off buying from gamestop. And I'd rather buy a black PS3 at 70 quid cheaper. Plus, I've had a white controller since I got my console years ago, and they get so grotty. The black hides my sweaty-mitt marks.

Also, I don't like the fact that another American company is trying to muscle its way into Britain and take over. I'm not supporting this yank company, when our own are struggling and I may not like Game that much, but i'd support our lot over Gamestop any day.

So the PS3 ditches gloss and goes matte, and the 360 turns glossy. Then the 360 ditches white and goes all-black, and the PS3 adopts a White SKU.

Have MS and Sony agreed to take it in turns with different textures and colours, or something?

I've always been more in favor of supporting the local game shops over giant chains like Gamestop. The small shops don't get preorder bonuses or exclusive content and it makes it even harder for them to compete. The difference is they don't pull sh*t like Gamestop did with Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
