Devil May Cry HD Collection spotted

A Devil May Cry HD Collection will launch in Europe on the PlayStation 3 on 30th November, according to a Spanish shop.

The listing on XtraLife.es, spotted by Siliconera, carries box art, which reveals the collection includes the first three games in the much-loved action series.

Eurogamer's Devil May Cry review, from 2001, sliced and diced a 9/10. 5/10 was Eurogamer's Devil May Cry 2 verdict. Devil May Cry 3 managed an 8/10.

Enslaved creator Ninja Theory is making a controversial reboot of the series, simply called DmC.

    Well this sounds good, especially since I've never played DMC (no idea why) and because they pretty much fucked up DMC1's PAL version. That's what I heard at least.

    Oh do shut up you bellend. They are all great games (well maybe not 2nd so much) dating back to the near start of the ps2 era. and its a 3 Remasters in one box,

    Now take Halo:

    Halo: Combat Evolved,
    Halo 2,
    Halo 3,
    Halo 3: ODST, set during the events of Halo 2 and Halo 3
    Halo Legends, a series of short animated films set in the franchise's universe
    Halo: Reach, prequel to the first
    Halo Original Soundtrack, an album, including the song "Halo"
    Halo Wars, real-time strategy spin-off
    Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary
    Halo 4,

    Edit - @ Pehmu - it was DMC3 they messed the difficulty setting on the non-japan version (easy was normal + normal was hard etc...) although the special edition rectified the problem.

    I already have 1 and 3, so I could play them on an emulator if I wanted just higher resolution. That goes for all of these "remasters", but they're good for people who don't own the originals...

    Since the Onimusha games use prerendered backgrounds, a HD remaster would be problematic to do.

    This would be awesome if true. I never realised until today how good an Onimusha HD collection sounds too. But I can see there being problems in doing that so it may be unlikely. Live in hope though!

    1) I own Devil May Cry 4, it's rubbish

    2) I didn't even realise this was PS3 exclusive.

    3) My comment is more about people whinging about Halo than DMC.

    4) Mr2Ange, kinda desperate there including a soundtrack and a dvd aren't you? How about the comics, books, toys and Lego style shit? 4 main games, an expansion, a remake that fans can play on Live now and a completely different title set in the same universe isn't milking it in a decade is it.

    I think you'll find Halo CE dates back to the start of the Xbox era too, what is your point again?

    Compare that to CoD......

    Dude i took the list of stuff from Wikipedia as i'm not sad enough to manually type in all those Halo games.

    My point was that releasing 3 games on a single disc in HD when there are only 4 games at all is hardly milking the franchise, where as halo has been thrown around in all kinds of genre's.

    Despite the PAL screw-up on the first DMC release, with Dante looking short, fat and slow; it was still the best in the series and very hard to top.

    I probably wait until it gets cheaper as I don't really like DMC 2 & 3.

    I must stress I am not slating DMC here but a quick Google just told me there is a DMC comic, toy range, and Sony bought the movie rights 2 days ago.

    Or, if you prefer copy and paste:

    I'd wish for a tenchu HD upgrade, that would be sweet.
    Devil May Cry 1 & 3 are awesome, loved the 1st one to death.
    Onimusha would be a nice series to upgrade too. ^_^

    Aye, I've heard about that too. What I meant was, DMC1's PAL conversion was bad. It was slow and had fat black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. Not many games at the time had a decent 60Hz support.

    Are you really suggesting that capcom - who dismantled clover unceremoniously, to the outrage of ... dozens - should now have a poke at the corpse?

    I bought the games new first time round - my clover budget is heading platinum-wards now.

    There are certain bosses/ sections I'm looking forward to in DMC2, but the majority of that game can kiss my butt.

    If it's the special edition of DMC3, and they fix DMC1 (along with updating the controls, I don't think I could go back to the old 'tank' controls), then sign me up.

    Now look at 5th in the link then look at 10th in this. It dosn't match the rest of the sentence!!
    Its a cheap rip off of the 5th anniversary collection!
