Alice console port confirmed

Free with new copies of Madness Returns.

As expected, EA has confirmed that those who buy new copies of Alice: Madness Returns will be able to download American McGee's Alice for free.

The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions include a one-time use Online Pass registration code that allows them to redeem the console port for free.

Those who buy used copies of Madness Returns can buy its predecessor for 800 Microsoft Points from Xbox Live Marketplace or £7.99 from the PlayStation Network through the main menu.

This can only be done through the main menu of Alice: Madness Returns, however. An Alice: Madness Returns disc is required in your console to access American McGee's Alice.

American McGee's Alice launched in 2000 exclusively on PC. Now, 11 years later, it makes its debut on console.

    Missed a trick there.

Seems a bit insane to me on EA's part. Why not release the port standalone on XBLA and PSN? Then you get people acquainted with the style of the game and might get a few more buyers.

I think EA's desperation to fit the Online Pass into everything has blinded them to the opportunity.

It's a great incentive to buy new, and has me hunting around for an LE copy of Dead Space 2 now I have time to play it, purely cos I want Extraction with it but don't see the point in buying it off the store only to buy DS2 for £20 anyway

I think I missed my own point, which was I think EA are on the right track with these incentives. I don't think many people would pick up Alice, especially if it has had the same treatment as MOH:Frontline (read: none) but chucked in for free with a new copy, they don't lose much really

Eight week exclusive like CoD Classic was. Count on it.

Will it have cheveo/trophy support, and if so 1000g ect ?

@7: Not according to this article they won't. It states that you'll need to use a MR disc to have any access to download Alice, which you'll do exclusively from the game's main menu, and that you'll need the disc also to play it. That reads to me, as if it isn't going to appear on the console digital stores at all.

All NEW copies include the necessary code to input to enable the original, but, if bought used you have to pay the p$10 toll to play Alice (2000), within Madness Returns.

If this is a well realised port with achievements and everything i will definetly be picking this up.

DUFF I assume it'll be XBLA so probably be 200 points.

So PC owners will also get this... right? I'm sure not every PC owner has an eleven-year-old game. I do, and I'd still quite like a digital version.

Frontline still can't be purchased on PSN six months later or on 360 at all (coz of the shit 2gb limit, Frontline HD is 6gbs). EA, Activision, two differant companies.
