Hitman 5 clues crescendo
Grr, ARG.
Evidence of a new Hitman game is mounting.
Members of the Hitman forum have been on a wild goose chase following a trail of cryptic ARG clues all pointing towards Hitman and its star, Agent 47. At one point the inquisitive thread-starter was sent a picture showing a script (possibly for a game) on a table and a pair of black leather gloves.
The next clues point to the Berlinale film festival. Given that the trail began with a picture of a box of doughnuts at the Sundance film festival, the link makes sense.
The community expects a reveal at the E3 show in June.
Eurogamer was told, last summer, that a new and fifth Hitman game was being worked on and would be "most likely" released sometime this year.
There hasn't been a Hitman game developed from the ground up for PS3 and Xbox 360. The last game, Blood Money, was ported and upscaled from Xbox to Xbox 360. Eurogamer awarded Hitman: Blood Money 8/10.
Since Blood Money, IO has gone on to make Kane & Lynch - a series that started promisingly but got worse. A return to IO's flagship Hitman IP is long overdue.
Hitman: Blood Money.

Sorry, you can neg away to your heart's content but the Assassin's Creeds are no more about assassination than Uncharted or Enslaved.

That should probably be the "Berlinale", no? You know, the one in Berlin?

Are we sure they're not sneakily announcing the second Hitman film instead?

A Hitman game built specifically for this generation with crisp visuals and varied gameplay will be most welcome, and as much as I did enjoy (for the most part) Kane and Lynch 2, I just hope the annoying YouTube inspired filter doesn't make a return.

Plus, don't instantly jump on the 'boo to shoehorned in multiplayer' bandwagon. IO have taken time and care with previous hitman games, and if they do put multiplayer in - I'm sure it won't be 'shoehorned in'. People shat all over ACB when it mentioned multiplayer and it turned out to be one of the best mp experiences of the year. It is possible to have stealth, planning and trickery in a multiplayer game. Although IO dropped the ball bigtime with Kane and Lynch - the multiplayer did have some interesting ideas (betrayal, etc), it's just a shame the gameplay and design decisions sucked balls.
Hitman has the great game mechanics of a stealth game, like how guards see you, react to your running/carrying weapons, (the AI basically), and you can plan missions out really well (throw gun over fence so you can walk through security and pick up gun later), and that's something AssCree doesn't have - as it is more of an open world game.

Kane & Lynch may have dislodged the halo a bit but I still have faith in Io to deliver the goods.
I really enjoyed Io's Freedom Fighters as well.
