Sony dates MotorStorm: Apocalypse

EU gets game before US, with different art.

OTT PlayStation 3 racer MotorStorm: Apocalypse hoons into European stores from 16th March, developer Evolution Studios has confirmed.

That's nearly three weeks ahead of the planned US launch on 5th April.

Speaking on the PlayStation Blog, game director Matt Southern also showed off the European boxart, which takes a slightly different racing line to its US counterpart.

"Our priority here is to show what is new in the game, and it slightly harks back to the box for MotorStorm 1," he explained. "It is quite unusual for a racing game and we spent a long time working out what we thought would be right."

Apocalypse is the sequel to 2008's MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, which clocked a solid 7/10 from Eurogamer's Tom Bramwell.
