Dead Nation voice chat patch incoming

You can pick each other's brains soon.

Somewhat bewilderingly, there's no voice chat option in PlayStation Network's multiplayer top-down zombie blaster, Dead Nation. Happily, that's set to change soon.

Developer Housemarque took over the PlayStation Blog to announce that it's working on a patch that will add in voice chat for the game's online co-op mode.

"It's regrettable that voice chat did not make it into the final game straight away," explained Housemarque CEO Ilari Kuittinen.

"We at Housemarque put our hearts and souls into our games and we hope that many people enjoy the fruits of our labour and that we are able to create thrilling gaming moments for all of our players.

"The game is currently missing this feature, which is a major issue for some players, but we think that releasing Dead Nation has been the right decision as the game is still great fun.

For the most part, Eurogamer's Dan Whitehead agreed, awarding Housemarque's effort 6/10 when it launched on PlayStation Network last week.

Haven't even noticed the lack of voice chat. I'm more concerned that my country (Russia) is 9th and Poland is 8th.
    Goddamn you, Poland!

I think that there is alot more than just some players that are pissed at the lack of voice chat! releasing a game unfinished, who do you think you are...... Activision?

Downloaded this yesterday & I was having a blast playing the single player, then my buddy got on and we tried co-op...... the lack of voice chat was a real game breaker for me, still there is a patch coming I guess.

Last week? It came out yesterday.

I think the co-op was an 11th hour decision and probably caused the game to miss a more profitable Haloween release. Needless to say the online chat would have delayed it even more and they decided to let it go.

Voice chat or not, the only thing that bothers me about Dead Nation is the agony of right index finger cramp after playing for a couple of hours. Love the rest of it though.

Great little game. Deserved better than 6/10. 7 at least.

So, can it get a 7/10 now? Oh, right, voice chat isn't original...

A shame they didn't release it with this.
