Kingdom Under Fire II heading to PS3

Xbox Live red tape suspends 360 version.

Having criticised the red tape of Xbox Live, Blueside has said it is also making a PS3 version of Kingdom Under Fire II.

The "main reason" was because PS3 offers "many possibilities considering the aspects of an MMORPG that requires continuous updates", Blueside CEO Sejung Kim explained.

The PS3 game is penned for a 2012 launch. The press release made no mention of the Xbox 360 version - only the PC game. When pressed about what this meant, Blueside told Eurogamer this morning that, "We're still under discussion with Microsoft, and nothing has been confirmed."

Exclusive characters and missions will be stuffed into the PS3 version of Kingdom Under Fire II. There's no mention of a billing model. Under the hood, Blueside promises to tailor the engine to maximise PS3 use.

Eurogamer found out all about Kingdom Under Fire II late last month - it sounds and looks good.

If this goes PS3 exclusive it will be the first game I've ever wanted on the PS3.

MS is gonna struggle to get any MMOS, even they wont let devs run there own servers and patching systems, then again maybe they dont want MMO's i know i bought less games when playing FF11 online

Confirmation of the PS3 version - Absolutely Fantastic! \o/ I hope that the 360 version will not be undermined, for those players who would prefer to play on there. As many as possible ought to be able to get to play, and enjoy KUF! Yes! ;)

I only played Circle of Doom, and apparently it's not got much to do with the rest of the series. But it wasn't that bad. I wouldn't mind trying some previous ones too.

Still, if this is a MMO, I'll probably pass.

There is definately a market for console MMOs and at this rate, MS are going to miss out. So far we have this, FFXIV and DCU all penned for PS3 release, X360 - nothing.
I like 360 and Live but I would never pay a subscription to play an MMO on Live simply out of principle. Other people must feel the same(?) - maybe MS are aware of this and are more than happy with their Live subs revenue??

Yea circle of doom was alright, some of my friends played it a LOT

I think with this stuff MS have a policy and if Monster Hunter or Wow want to come along, bye bye policy, but this game's not a big enough thing for them to do it....at least that's my theory.

MS, I do understand Xbox live is a very strictly moderated service. While I think its fantastic n all, please dont miss out on this oppurtunity.

The wobbling tits were very well animated alright, the last trailer I seen for this had them covered up by armour.

Is the thinking still that Bungie's next game will be MMO? Surely MS will want that on 360 so this policy must be being looked into by now?

You would think that a in world in which flying Viking warships were a staple part of any military manouvere, someone would have created a bra that offered rather better defenses against the power of gravity than the one modelled so demonstrably by the elven lady.

She is going to regret that wardrobe choice in 20 years time, mark my words.
  • Slipstream #17 1 year ago

I think she's going to regret it sooner rather than later, look how she casually strolls towards hundreds of well armoured warriors in a bikini.

ffs MS, sort it out. If Sony can manage to run the PS3 successfully with a freer system, why the hell can't you loosen up a bit? >:(

Damn, I was about to post that the footage was just a montage of cutscenes, but that looks like gameplay toward the end, and yeah, it does look quite good!

This made me think of 'Sauron, the Early Years' ... and yeah, they did seem to try to put those wobbles in every shot.
