Fable III UK launch night plans

Albion the train there.

Fable III will have its own midnight launch event at GAME on London's Oxford Street this Thursday.

The event will get underway at 9pm and finish 1am Friday morning, according to the Lionhead Twitter.

Prizes will be given and members of the Lionhead Fable III team will be present.

Fable III hinges around the idea of revolution. There are two distinct parts to the game: leading a revolution and ruling Albion as monarch. Will you be good or will you be evil?

Revolution: now there's a good name for a console.

I hope the PC version drops by this year. This game is looking neat.

When will the review be published?
  • Darren #4 2 years ago

@sink257 - The PC version is due in December I believe, which is handy because it gives me plenty of time to cancel my pre-order if the 360 version doesn't meet my expectations. :)

"There are two distinct parts to the game: leading a revolution and ruling Albion as monarch."

I've been reading this for a year and I still have no idea what that means in terms of gameplay. Looking forward to the reviews. (Hope they arent just a rehash of the first half of the story followed by "it's quite good/bad/mediocre".)

I played the original Fable and was not impressed so had no intention of getting Fable 2 and 3 until I took advantage of Microsofts generous offer of giving away Fable 2 free for a couple of hours last week and I must say I'm really enjoying it, much better game than the original so now I'm seriously going to have to think about getting this when it comes out.

oh shit. I forgot about this game, and now I can't afford to buy it. Same as Fallout NV. Well, looks like I'm going to be doing most of my game shopping in the new year. Again.

Hmmmmmmm. Might pop along. I just work the other end of Wardour Street... Beers first methinks if it's 9pm. More info on prizes anyone? Would be nice if they spunked out hundreds of thousands of gold coins for the first 100 Kingmaker peeps down there.

My special edition is supposedly on its way from GAME.co.uk now... Still haven't sent me a code to save my bloody custom NPC on xbox.com though.

I have this on pre-order for a shit long time, but I'm just goinf to start playing it during Xmas season. It's the perfect game for xmas, I guess.
For now, it's time to complete Reach and do all Vanquish's Achievements which is going to be a real challenge. Saw some videos of Mikami playing the Challenges (aka "horde mode";) and even him couldn't do the infamous 6th.

Wondering how questing will differ once your King
No King would quest on his Jack Jones, he'd have a hefty crew tagging along

I have a love/hate relationship with this franchise. If the reviews are good, I will buy.

I expect nothing less from eurogamer than hourly updates around the clock - leading up to its release, and the day after.

I think i'll wait to hear some user reviews - with all the hype and obvious marketing money being spent on this thing, i dont think i'm going to trust a single "professional" (cough!) review...

    Damn review embargos.

I played this a couple of times at the expo and it looks great. I'm looking forward to the last third. The Lionhead dev said its top secret and special. Cam't wait.

Love that piece of music, the glorious ninth I believe. 'I was cured alright...' ;)
  • metalangel #19 2 years ago

@darc: I have a feeling the 'ruler' bit basically means the quest givers come to you instead of you seeking them out.

@monkfishjoe: From previews it seems to be implied the first third is you as the revolutionary, the second is you as ruler, and the third is you leading the country into war with another nation.

"Free Weapons" DLC for Fable III now on Xbox Live, it's about 249mb and ummm it's free.
  • monkfishjoe #21 2 years ago

@metalangel. Cheers, but I think there might be a twist.

Game mechanics for this section haven't been discussed in depth yet and the guy at the expo said even PM hasn't talked about it. How will the ruling section work? It'll be interesting.
  • metalangel #22 2 years ago

@monkfishjoe: an RTS bit where you lead your men into battle would be cool. Or a solitary heroic quest like your ancestors to find the only way to stop the enemy's secret weapon. Either way it will only last until EG's spoilerific review.
  • mingster #23 2 years ago

Wait for the bug fix patches first. Or don't play co-op as it's broken.

Ah gads not even close to finishing Fallout =(
