Dragon Age: Origins gets Ultimate Edition
It only does everything.
BioWare has announced plans to wrap up all add-ons and DLC packs released for Dragon Age: Origins into one tidy package.
Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition gathers together the original game, the Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening expansion and all seven DLC packs. That's The Stone Prisoner, Warden's Keep, Return to Ostagar, The Darkspawn Chronicles, Leliana's Song, The Golems of Amgarrak and Witch Hunt.
BioWare estimates that adds up to a handsome saving of $114 (£73 / €84) compared to shelling out for all the content individually. Why do we buy games at launch again?
Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition ships on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 29th October. Eurogamer's Oli Welsh awarded the bare-bones original a middling 6/10 when it launched last year.
Dragon Age 2, due on 11th March 2011, looks like it could be a distinct improvement.

I saw a Eurogamer article about this exact same thing months ago.

Cut the price tag into half... that here reminds me more of a highway robbery then good deal... Most of DLC-s were not so good anyways (Shale was the only one truly shining, rest were from meh to bah). So, a year old game, half a year old expansion and some DLCs with questionable quality. Seems like 84€ is just too much.

In my opinion, most definitely.

I didn't care about using the isometric view at all in the pc version, and I've always been a big Baldur's Gate fan. At least that is a non-issue imo, don't know much about the xbox version otherwise.

It's still sitting on my shelf, waiting to be played.
I'm sure it's a good game. I'm certain it's better than ME2 which was just so watered down it was ridiculous. There's just something preventing me from going back to it after all this time, especially when so many decent games are coming out recently.

Better late than never.
Fallout 3 burned me as I had to re-buy it in form of the GOTY Edition.
I didn't buy Awakening + any DLC since I knew this would be coming (I bought the US Collector's Edition when I was over the pond though since it was pretty cheap).
I still didn't buy Mass Effect 2 due to the same reason. Huge backlog -> I can wait and I don't have the urge anymore to have everything "day one" like I did when I was younger.
Saves you tons of money in the long run...

amazon has it priced at £30, which makes it cheaper than awakening on its own
