The outstanding additions to a jam-packed PlayStation Store today are three demos: one for Dead Space 2, one for LittleBigPlanet 2 and one for Mass Effect 2.

Sequels are en vogue.

You shouldn't need much encouragement for either one. Mass Effect 2 is already out on Xbox 360, of course, but on PS3 the game gains the Mass Effect 3 engine as well as some nips and tucks here and there.

We're taking a closer look to see what has changed.

Today also brings Battlefield: Bad Company 2 expansion Vietnam - "More of this please," concludes Eurogamer's review - as well as the Grubbins on Ice addition for Costume Quest. There's a mountain of new cards to supplement new game Magic the Gathering - Duels of the Planewalkers, too.

Another new game is echochrome ii, which costs £10. Writes Megaton editor Dan Whitehead for Eurogamer: "It's a game that dares to tear up the rulebook and start over in the quest for a better sequel, and is all the better for venturing beyond the boundaries established in the previous game. The sort of old-school puzzle game that demands patience and dedication, it repays both in abundance."

There's also a 1080p, Move-supported Top Darts game, for what that's worth - well, £6.30 apparently.

Other newcomers are MAG at a cut-down price of £20, and Tetris for £8.

Today marks the arrival of Neo Geo games on the PlayStation Store as well.

Today's bumper, festive PlayStation Store update can be read in full on the European PlayStation blog.
