Reader Reviews

Your views on games like Xenosaga, Carmageddon, Resident Evil Survivor 2 and Pinball Challenge Deluxe. Keep 'em coming, folks..

Another week, another handful of interesting reviews, some of which flirt with controversy, some of which flirt with obscurity, and some of which are just plain flirtatious. I've left out the one from a (mostly illiterate) reader who demanded that I suck his... - you get the idea - for failing to recognise the brilliance of P.N.03. Did I not say nice things about it anyway?

This week's Star Review is itamae's take on Xenosaga; partly because it's enjoyable, and partly because he's going to need all the support he can get having just slated an RPG Rob ranks amongst his favourite of all time. Enjoy the backlash, chaps. Another game reviewed this week - that probably won't receive a great deal of support - is Capcom's ill conceived Resident Evil Survivor 2 Code: Veronica, which not only set a new low for Capcom's daft naming conventions, but in the opinion of regular contributor Kami also set a new low for Resident Evil games, light gun games, and games in general. Quite a feat.

Elsewhere I've included Peej's take on Carmageddon as it articulates my own memory of the game fairly well. Kristan continues to claim none of them were ever any good, but as we all know Kristan is nothing but a bitter and twisted old man. He is also very wrong and mad.

So, with that I once again find myself begging for submissions. We'll print just about anything, we really will. Review anything you like, as long as it's in some way related to our mutual love of videogames and the people who make them. Bought some incomprehensible Japanese game and can't figure it out at all? Review the box. Is your stuffed Pikachu having trouble fending off incursions from cuddly Tails atop the TV? Review his battle tactics. I don't care. Just send me stuff, or I'll be forced to post videos of myself playing Dancing Stage Unleashed. You have been warned.

The Rules

Reader Reviews should be submitted to contact@eurogamer.net, and can be written about anything you like - hardware, games, peripherals - even if we've already written about it. In fact, that's kind of the point! Also, thanks to lobbying from various long-winded people, there is no word limit! Just please try to keep it clean and legal - like we do for you! The best candidate each week will receive a random bit of game-related tat (possibly even an actual game) as a prize. Lucky, lucky you. And of course, your work will be displayed for all to see.
