Infinity Blade: Dungeons officially cancelled

But more planned for Infinity Blade universe.

Infinity Blade: Dungeons has been officially cancelled.

The announcement was made on the Epic Games podcast, on which Chair Entertainment chief Donald Mustard appeared.

The news comes as little surprise. In February 2013 Epic founder Tim Sweeney said Infinity Blade: Dungeons was "on hold" after the company shuttered its developer Impossible Studios.

Infinity Blade: Dungeons was to be an Unreal Engine 3 iOS dungeon crawler, a spin-off of the main touchscreen sword fighting series.

"There's not much I can say since Dungeons was not a game we were actually working on here at Chair," Mustard said. "It was a concept that originated from Epic, and was an idea we were happy to support.

"But when the studio that was working on [Dungeons] was closed, the game was cancelled. That's really all I can say," said Mustard said.

He added: "There's more we at Chair are totally planning to do in the Infinity Blade universe. More games, more books, maybe even other products. And we are very excited about that."
