We wonder what it is.

Vivendi has alerted press that Blizzard will be making an "exciting" announcement tonight at 20:00 UK time.

There's no word on what it will be, but it could be confirmation of the top secret no-one-knows-about-it World of Warcraft expansion Wrath of the Lich King.

The announcement will kick-off events at this year's BlizzCon event in Ahaheim, California - taking place today and tomorrow.

Rumours cranked up to full-speed earlier this week, after German ratings board USK produced a listing for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King - necessary for a supposed demo of it being shown at the Games Convention 2007 show in Leipzig.

This was followed a day later by a mysterious leaked FAQ for the game, unveiling Hero Classes and an increased level cap. Rounding this off today was news that Blizzard had filed with the US Patent and Trademark office for the name Wrath of the Lich King - it couldn't do this without full intention of putting the title to use, apparently.

It all seems to be pointing in one direction, and we may well know for sure later today. Stay tuned.
