Kingsley and Molina join POP cast

One a mentor, one probably a villain.

British acting heroes Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina will also star in the upcoming Prince of Persia film.

Molina, who appeared as Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2, is to play Sheik Amar who eventually becomes a mentor to the prince, according to Variety.

Kingsley, on the other hand, is rumoured to play the villain Vizier; more likely to reprise his role as Fagin from Oliver Twist than Ghandi from, er, Ghandi.

Late last month we heard that Jake Gyllenhaal of Brokeback Mountain fame would be playing prince Dastan.

The Prince of Persia film will be directed by Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire man Mike Newell, with big spender Jerry Bruckheimer also on board to ensure a visual feast akin to the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy.

Filming is said to be happening as soon as next month across the UK and in Morocco.
