Fist of North Star to be "more extreme"

Apparently that's the way we like it.

Koei may ratchet up the violence in the western version of its upcoming Dynasty Warriors spin-off Fist of the North Star according to producer Hisashi Koinuma.

"There won't be any gameplay changes," Koinuma told Japanese site 4Gamer (thanks Andriasang / Kotaku).

"However, for overseas fans, we'll probably adjust the expressions of violence so that it's more extreme."

Koinuma also said that while Koei is well known for its love of sequels, plans for a follow-up to Fist of the North Star - which launched in Japan last week on PS3 and Xbox 360 - would depend on the game's reception.

Downloadable content is on the way for the Japanese market, however.

Fist of the North Star is currently down for release in Europe this summer, and isn't exactly shy about violence already.

As you can see from the trailer below, it's a game where blood explodes from every impact like dust into vacuum, and where people don't get out of bed for less than a flying upside-down kick to the face.
