A patch for the fantastic Quake 3 Fortress modification has been released, bringing the game up to version 1B. You can download it from the official files page, it weighs in at a fairly light 2.8Mb, compared to the original 35Mb file! If you have yet to download any of it, you can read the online documentation while it's downloading.
