EA has announced that Jade Raymond, head of its Motive studio, is leaving the company.

Jade Raymond founded EA's Montreal-based Motive studio.

Raymond, who previously oversaw the likes of Assassin's Creed and Watch Dogs at Ubisoft, joined EA in 2015 in order to establish the publisher's Montreal-based Motive studio.

Motive, of course, was heavily involved in Visceral Games' Amy-Hennig-directed Star Wars title, before the project and studio were shut down earlier this year. Motive also assisted with last year's controversial Star Wars: Battlefront II.

According to a statement given to Venture Beat, Motive will now be overseen by Samantha Ryan, who runs EA's mobile, Maxis, and BioWare studios. "With this change," said the publisher, "Jade Raymond has decided to leave Electronic Arts."

"In her time with us, Jade helped to build great teams, and our projects underway at Motive and other studios continue unchanged. We're appreciative of all of her efforts, and we wish Jade all the best as she moves on to her next adventure."
