There's a new report about those NX detachable controllers

Motion control, force feedback mooted.

NX's detachable controllers will have a couple of hidden tricks inside them, according to a new report.

Last month, Eurogamer published word that Nintendo's next console would be a portable device, powered by an Nvidia's Tegra technology, with two small controllers detachable from its portable screen.

We heard these clipped onto either side of the portable's main unit - which also houses its screen - and it's these controllers which have now come under the spotlight.

Both will feature Wii-style motion sensors and high-tech vibration, according to a new report from LetsPlayVideoGames.

The NX's vibration will allow for multiple levels of feedback depending on what the user is doing in-game. So, if you're hit by a sword, expect to feel the force of the impact far more than if you were just catching a ball.

As for motion control, Ubisoft's Just Dance 2017 is reportedly being developed for NX to be compatible with its motion-sensing controllers, just as the series was for the Wii.

It sounds like a lot of technology to pack into each controller device, although it fits with what Eurogamer has heard about them being designed to allow multiplayer gaming on the move.

Nintendo is set to fully show off NX in the near future, before the console's release worldwide in March 2017. As of early July we'd heard reports of a September unveiling. Hopefully we won't have too much longer to wait. In the meantime, you can read about every confirmed Nintendo NX game, specs and more.
