Activision promises to address Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 issues

Two new stages and five bonus skaters to be added for free.

Activision says it's aware of the high-profile issues surrounding Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 and is working to address them.

In a statement sent to Eurogamer, the company said it was working with developer Robomodo to improve the game, which suffers from a raft of glitches, performance issues and connectivity problems.

We are aware of the issues that players have experienced following the launch of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 and are working with the developer to address these so that we can continue to improve the gameplay experience for all of the Tony Hawk fans who have known and loved this franchise for more than 16 years.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5's problems go beyond graphical glitches. During a live stream last night, Eurogamer video supremo Ian Higton couldn't get any of the mission markers to activate on the second level, forcing him to access missions in a separate menu. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 fared little better in Eurogamer's review, published this morning. Simon Parkin called it "a tragic swansong for Tony Hawk's video game career".

Meanwhile, Activision said two new stages and five bonus skaters will be added to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 in future updates - for free. The full-price game includes eight levels at launch.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 is out today in the UK on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It comes out on PS3 and Xbox 360 on 13th November.
