Notch makes Minicraft in two days

Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson has created a new game: Minicraft.

He made it as part of the 22nd Ludum Dare competition. In under 48 hours.

Minicraft is a top-down action game, a bit like old school Zelda, in which you chop down trees, mine rocks and stab zombies. You harvest resources, build items, then kill a boss.

Use arrow keys to move, press C to attack and X to open the inventory and interact with objects in the world. The goal of the game is to kill the only other sentient being in the world, making sure you'll be alone forever, reads the game's melancholy description.
