Dragon Age 2! We Dare! Yoostar 2!

This is getting silly. As Eurogamer reported in last week's Out This Week, this week sees (should see... maybe) the release of fantasy role-playing game Two Worlds II. Ah, we give up.

Who knows if the TopWare-published game will see the light of day exclusively on Amazon.co.uk? We keep asking. We keep reporting. The date keeps changing.

So, let's turn our attention to firmer ground, and to another hotly anticipated fantasy role-playing game: Dragon Age II. BioWare's swords and magic follow-up hits UK shops this Friday, and with it comes the promise of refined gameplay sans the dreaded dumbing down. Will you enchant your armour, or erase it from your inventory?

Elsewhere, Blitz Games' Yoostar 2 hits shop shelves. The movie karaoke game transports players into famous scenes from the silver screen. But is it more a case of hasta la vista, baby than I'll be back?

And expect to see Wii and PS3 sex-em-up We Dare launch, following a somewhat controversial build up. The titillating party game for adults sparked anger from the mainstream media last week after PEGI awarded it a 12 plus age rating. Now, finally, we get to see what all the fuss is about. Hey, at least it's new IP.

This Week in Shops!

Dragon Age II

  • Developer: BioWare
  • Publisher: EA
  • Formats: PC, PS3, Xbox 360

What is it? Fantasy role-playing game from the makers of Mass Effect. What does Eurogamer think? Our review goes live at 5pm UK time on 8th March. "It cuts out all of Origins', um, origins in favour of following Hawke, a human hero, through an adventure which unfolds Princess Bride-style (though given this is BioWare, you can rest assured it probably won't be too reminiscent of Princess Bride) through the recollections of others," wrote Christian Donlan in Eurogamer's hands-on preview.

The first 15 minutes of Dragon Age II's demo.

Yoostar 2

  • Developer: Blitz Games Studios
  • Publisher: Namco Bandai Games
  • Formats: PS3, Xbox 360

What is it? Movie karaoke game. Console camera add-ons are used to put player images into famous film scenes for you to deliver iconic lines. What does Eurogamer think? Expect a Eurogamer review soon.

Ellen DeGeneres plays Yoostar 2.

We Dare

  • Developer: Ubisoft
  • Publisher: Ubisoft
  • Formats: PS3, Wii

What is it? Uncomfortable motion control fondle game for adults. What does Eurogamer think? Um...

That trailer.

What Else?

  • Warriors: Legend of Troy (PS3, Xbox 360)
  • Torchlight (XBLA)
  • Forsaken World (PC)
  • PopCap Hits Volume 2 (Xbox 360)

Chart Predictions!

Each week one of the team will step up to predict the UK all-formats chart. The following predicts the outcome for the week beginning Friday 11th March (to be reported on Monday 14th March).

Wesley Yin-Poole, News Editor, Eurogamer.net

"Surely Dragon Age 2 will be the UK's best-selling game next week. It's big, it's BioWare and it's backed by EA. Elsewhere, I'm sure both Pokemon games will hold fast in the top five – and continue to do so for a good few months, such is the popularity of the Nintendo role-playing game series. Will We Dare dare to enter the top five? Despite the flash in the pan furore surrounding its 12 plus age rating, I doubt it. I predict Bulletstorm and Killzone 3 will round out the list once again."

  1. Dragon Age II
  2. Pokémon Black
  3. Pokémon White
  4. Bulletstorm
  5. Killzone 3

Eurogamer Website & Video Administrator Tom Phillips peered into his crystal ball last week. We've made a fancy table to show how he did.

Position The Truth The Prediction Result
1 Pokémon White Pokémon Black NO!
2 Pokémon Black Pokémon White NO!
3 Fight Night Champion Fight Night Champion YES!
4 Bulletstorm Bulletstorm YES!
5 Killzone 3 Killzone 3 YES!
