UK charts: Wii Fit on top for 11th week
Breaks Nintendo records.
Wii Fit spends an 11th week atop the UK All Formats chart and becomes Nintendo's longest serving No. 1 ever, breaking Pokémon Yellow's record.
The pace is too much for The Godfather II, which spends its first week in pursuit at two.
Further down the chart settles into a familiar pattern as releases dry up with the approach of summer.
Mario & Sonic at the Olympics somehow manages to get back to three, pushing Resident Evil 5 to four and FIFA 09 to five. Call of Duty: World at War takes six, Professor Layton hangs at seven and Wii Play climbs to eight.
Mario Kart Wii and Street Fighter IV round the chart out at nine and ten, respectively.

It's always the same ole Wii game featuring in the charts, and for the folk that have owned those 3 or 4 games for the last 12 months, what else is there? The one game that came out recently which I thought looked quite cool, Madworld, flopped like a mother fucker, which means a lack of risks will be taken with future Wii software. I don't want to argue with anyone, I'm just wondering where the new big hits are :/
Annnyway, I'm STILL playing Wheelman, I only get to have the odd hour or so blast here and there, and when you play the game in that manner it's strangely fun and addictive. Some of the car chases are quite spectacular to play, when it's not glitching like a bitch

COD-WAW still in top ten and COD4 in top ten last week. COD4 still selling respectably 18 months after release. Activision/IW must be swimming in loot.
Sony will surely be disappointed that KZ2 has dropped away so quickly.

I went into HMV to get it as an impulse buy at €40ish but it wasn't in stock, so it's not surprising it's dropping off the chart.

There are a number of games that could be big Wii hits..if they were marketed heavily and well.
Little Kings Story is out next week in Europe (not that you'd know due to the utter lack of coverage) and has been getting great reviews. It's far more charming than Animal Crossing and has mass appeal IMO...but it'll be lucky to make the top 40 as the gaming media are largely ignoring it..... and the company releasing it aren't big enough to give it the kind of marketing push it needs.

You know, I see six Wii titles in the top ten alone. Which is a bit of a contrast to the old 'Wii owners buy 2 or 3 games tops' adagium.
I count 4, and those 4 are the exact same 4 that have been there for ever. (And one of those is only there because it's packaged with a WiiMote)

(Look at how "well" their previous games - okami and viewtiful joe did)
