TimeShift demo on Thursday

Multiplayer one, anyway.

Sierra Entertainment has told Eurogamer that the European multiplayer TimeShift demo will be on Live this Thursday.

It will give those of you unsure about picking it up earlier this month the chance to sample its delights; rewinding, reversing or slowing down time in order to see-off antisocial gangs of enemies with hoods up.

Unfortunately, if you had been listening to us, you would know that we thought it was a bit average - failing to really ignite us in the same way games like F.E.A.R. and Max Payne had in the past.

Pop over to our TimeShift review to find out more.

This demo has been on live for nearly a month?
Has it not? I remember grabbing it back then.

Was pretty rubbish to be quite honest...

Very old demo - roundly panned then ignored by all and sundry. Some-one has cocked up the news, or is this some kind of time shifting japery ?

    TimeShift or TimeShit ?

    I crack myself up !

Given that it says Thursday and Live updates on Wednesday I assume they actually mean Network.

    But......I played a while back....and I haven't got an american account. O_0

    EG is using timeshifting trickery.

The TimeShift demo is a load of old crap on both formats but the PS3 version comes complete with more tearing. How on earth the devs thought this would sell on the 360 when it has Halo 3 and CoD 4, two far superior games, I do not know. And PS3 owners will soon have Haze, which I'd wager on being a much better game also.

Perhaps if it has been released a year ago when it was intended it might have had a chance and stood out more but now... it'll be languishing in the bargain basement bins of GAME for £20 come the New Year, mark my words... ;)

Boy, you guys are harsh! Agreed overall the demo felt a mess at times, but there were some nice ideas in there; stopping time, walking up to the enemy and taking his gun from his hands had to be a highlight. Won't be picking it up, but to the uninformed the timeshifting concept may prove alluring.

This is probably the multiplayer demo, since the single player one has been on live for the last month or so.
  • Kazzahdrane #8 4 years ago

Yep, this is the multiplayer demo that the devs said they were going to try and get out just after release.

The only bad things about the demo for me were the way all the colours (black, more black, blacker) blended together and the way you were led through the story.

The gameplay was pretty good I thought..

I love the game! im easily pleased by shiny graphics :)
  • Moz #11 4 years ago

I actually quite liked the demo.

And for all the peeps who want more single player FPS then it's probably a good buy.

I don't know about the demo but I have finished the game and it's really not bad at all. Besides anticlimatic ending and not enough identity it's a fun shooter with some really great levels. When it hits the bargain bin, I really recommend it. No tearing in the final version.

The first few posters could do with actually reading the article first, this is for the MULTIPLAYER demo you numptys!

Oh, and Darren, as usual, you're very wrong.
  • sharpfish #14 4 years ago

Can't this game DIE already? How many times are they going to try and release and it still shit... the world has moved on (Crysis) and it's time this games developers did too.

    I thankyou. :)

Did you know EG can edit articles after posting them?

I can highly recommend the timeshift videos on Live, they're unintentionally very funny and really highlight how bad the game is.

@BBIAJ - What is it with you of late? Why do you feel the need to comment on what seems like every single one of my posts in a derogatory fashion, i.e." wrong as usual"?

How the bloody hell can I be "wrong" when I've clearly expressed my *own* opinion of the DEMO and made it blatantly clear it was the demo I was commenting on? I didn't like it, it's competent but somewhat bland and meh-ish, nothing more, hardly enough to tempt me to buy the full game, which is surely the point of a demo? And considering you admit to liking "rubbish" like Hour of Victory and Pimp My Ride and found games like Halo 3 and Gears of War disappointments, I hardly think you're in a position to be telling me what makes a good game anyway. Sorry, but it's that reason why you're the last person I'd trust when it comes to commenting on the quality of games. ;) LOL

If this sells well then I'll eat my chocolate hat. Mmmm, yum, might do anyway! :p

    @ BBIAJ

You, my friend, are the numpty. EG edited their article and tag line after we had posted - they must have realised their mistake.
