No head-tracking in Boom Blox News

Wii News by Ellie Gibson

16 April, 2008

Remember back in February, when we reported you'd be able to play Wii title Boom Blox just by moving your head about? Well you won't.

It's not that we're liars. It's that EA's removed the feature from the game for mysterious reasons, as reported by Joystiq.

"Head-tracking was something we considered including as an Easter egg in Boom Blox," the company said. "However, we did not end up including it in the final version of the game." That explains everything.

For those who aren't familiar, Boom Blox has been developed in co-operation with Steven Spielberg and involves building and blowing up constructions made of blocks. It's out on May 9th, and you can see it in action via the gamepage.

Arse. The YouTube demonstration of head tracking with the Wii shows how much potential it has.

There is no reason why this isn't a downloadable title. EA could even exploit customers like Square-Enix intends to do...

There is no factual evidence behind that claim.

The buzz on this game is actually that it's really fun, but it IS a shame about the head tracking.
