New Nintendogs on the way News

DS News by Ellie Gibson

22 May, 2006

Nintendo has announced that a new edition of Nintendogs is set to hit European shops next month.

Nintendogs: Dalmatian & Friends will offer you a choice of six breeds to start with, plus a further 14 to be unlocked. It'll include all the same features as the Labrador, Dachshund and Chihuahua editions - so, you'll be tasked with feeding, cleaning and training your puppy, and you'll be able to enter competitions to win cash and buy new stuff. For more information, you might like to check out our review.

Nintendogs: Dalmatian & Friends is out on June 16th, priced £29.99.

Cruella de ville, cruella de ville
If she doesn’t scare you, no evil thing will
To see her is to take a sudden chill

I've seen a screenshot, the dalmation puppy looks a bit like one of the other puppies but it's been spray-painted with spots. Don't the spots develop later on in the dog's life?

Heh - there's that famous Ninty innovation at work again... I'm in awe. At least EA change teams and stats each year, plus a little spit and polish. Ninty manage to flog exactly the same game over and over again, and folks troop out and spend money on these. Genius.

Razz - serious question, if you haven't bought any of the previous Nintyhounds, why would the same polygons + spot textures make you shell out this time?

You could only unlock the dalmation by finding a fireman's helmet (fnar) when you walked a dog after you had heard a siren. The chances of this happening seemed fairly low to me.

The only other breed that couldn't be unlocked as easily as the rest was a Jack Russell, but I forget how that one was unlocked.

Well I've heard of 5yr old girls who cry when the right Nintendogs is in the shops. I'm sure theres a 5yr old girl out there who said "I'm not going to get nintendogs until theres one with a Dalmation on the front". Well thats who Nintendo are castering for!

I didn't buy Nintendogs so i might pick up this version.

Also I too wish that there was a Nintenmonkeys.
