Rumble Roses XX demo

Konami and Microsoft have released a playable demo of Rumble Roses XX, available now through Xbox Live Marketplace. The demo weighs in at 854.31MB and apparently allows you to battle people over Xbox Live too - although we're still waiting for the blummin' thing to download, so let us know if that's not the case eh?

Rumble Roses XX is out now in Europe - it's an all-girl wrestling game from Japanese specialists Yuke's, and does pretty much exactly what it says on its pants.

It's quite a good day for XBL downloads, as it goes, as it also sees the release of the Perfect Dark Zero map-pack Microsoft recently announced - details of which can be found elsewhere. In short, it's four new maps, including one (Plaza) recently introduced in the PDZ downloadable demo.

Not content with that, this week's also seen the 360 version of the Oblivion patch we mentioned yesterday go live, and Major Nelson's blog tells us that Matisyahu's "King Without a Crown" video is now downloadable in 480p and 720p formats as part of Microsoft's "Artist of the Month" music promotion.

    2/3 Ain't bad.
    Rumble Roses + Oblivion patch to be put on list immidiately.
    In fact a demo of rumble roses is probably all anyone needs!

    Saw them on "Later....." and thought they were excellent so was very pleased to see them crop up on the XBL slot this month.

    It took me a while to realise that Matisyahu isn't some japanese guy and that King without a Crown isn't some crappy spikey haired rpg.

    It's pretty crap. One for hormonal teenage boys, and virtually no-one else.

    It has become a staple to say how Rumble Roses is but Poundland titillation for teenagers.

    It is almost as if these virtual girls weren't hot or didn't look good, or as if people just didn't appreciate the realism and detail put into creating their anatomies.

    If as an adult you can understand a CG explosion as part of a story or get emotional when a bunch of pixels tell another bunch of pixels about their feelings in an RPG, I wonder why it has become so politically incorrect amongst adult gamers to admit that females in games such as DOA or RR are sexually attractive. Personally (being an adult gamer) I don't get a hard-on or feel the urge to masturbate -it is softcore after all- but I do enjoy staring at them and their beautifully rendered bodies, at least for a few minutes, and certainly appreciate the effort and good job done by the folks at Konami on the modelling and animation areas. Of course I would prefer the gameplay to be a bit deeper. Of course the titillation is a marketing gimmick, mostly for youngs. I still fail to see what is so wrong about that.

    Incidentally, I fail to understand why hasn't there been a decent, honest effort in creating a pornographic videogame where players get to recreate a sexual fantasy, interacting with different elements. Imagine the possibilities...

    Realism? Are you sure you've actually seen the game? I'm sorry to break this to you, but women don't look like that in the real world.

    As for your porno-dream-game, sadly such 'games' do exist on the PC. I'm guessing you don't read any PC games magazines (which love regulary having a laugh at the expense of them). I guess you'll just have to Google. But honestly, you can find real women to look at even easier - and their models are much more detailed than anything in Rumble Roses.

    Downloaded Oblivion patch, live Matisyahu vid, Ninety Nine Nights vid and then the Rumble Roses demo. It's free and only takes a few mins to grab so why not.

    Loaded it, played a bout, did some photo work in the 'locker room', felt dirty, deleted again.

    The CG in things like the photo-shoot is ok - not film render levelks but pretty much ok but the game lurches about with a lot of animations seemingly not linked smoothly. They just shoe-horn suddenly from one to the next - often even moving one of the characters suddenly so it fits. Nothing yanks you out of a game experience like watching a character slide along the floor about a foot or so for no reason.

    By the time you've taken the spandex, lycra, bikinis and faux-softcore out there is *very* little left at all.

    Well. Videogames are a natural part of the growing process of kids nowadays. Why shouldn't they get their titillation from them?

    There is realism in a lot of details such as hair, faces, skin and clothes textures, muscles. In all honesty, the wrestlers in RR are rather realist if you compare them to the DOA busty dolls. And I could mention real life examples of women that are more extreme than the models in this game: more body muscle, more breasts, longer limbs, wider hips...

    And for the porno game, is there a PC game that allows me to pick characters, adjust their looks and size and shape of their sexual attributes, their sexual attitudes, clothes, etc. and have sex in an interactive way with them in a room, or look at them having sex? Is there an online title where players customise the looks of a character and interact sexually with a 3D body of their choice with other players?
