Game available to buy, too.

Introversion's strategic "genocide-'em-up" Defcon is now available to buy off the Internet or in one of those boxes, and you can download a demo to celebrate. Or: to discover if you feel like buying it.

You can buy the game via Steam or Introversion's website, and you can grab the demo from Valve's download service or just use the regular Internet. It's only 58MB - and if you buy it that's how big the full download is, too.

According to them wot know, the demo consists of a rolling demonstration of the game, a tutorial, and a playable multiplayer bit with support for two players. The full game supports up to six of you humans.

Fantastic game, ive already had my moneys worth from it last night with some great games. Check the thread in the forum.

It does have a few faults, that may or may not be pached, but for the price its a definate recomendation from me.

It'd be all the better if suddenly and for no particular reason the Steam authentication server hadn't decided I owned the demo version and not the full game I had pre-ordered weeks before and had happily been playing and refused to be told otherwise. Fun up until then though.

Yeah, I won't be buying the steam version any time soon. They took a mysterious dislike to my credit card and now I'm locked out. Odd really, the card isn't maxed out and everyone else seems to accept it. Plus they accepted it when I bought half life 2. Ho hum.

This is the stuff that XBLA needs. Not bloody nostalgia cash cows.

On a more serious note, I wouldn't count on it. In an interview a while back the director of XBLa revealed himself to be quite a bit of a yahoo. His prime interest was to get all the games from his childhood on it. Hence all the shitty Japanese 'classics'. :\

jack_klugman: Have the exact same problem! Pretty damn annoying having spent money on the full version even prior to release and then being snubbed off with the demo
The Steam support site is a mess aswell :/

The game on the other hand looks pretty ace. Even the little I could get out of the demo was great fun.
