New SOCOM for PS3, PSP
Confrontations and Tactics.
Sony has confirmed that SOCOM will be heading to the PlayStation 3, although a European release date and details were MIA.
It's expected in America in the Christmas period, and word on the street is that it will be called SOCOM: Confrontations and be an online-only experience. You can take a look at how it's shaping up over on Eurogamer TV.
The PSP will also go army-mad with SOCOM: Tactical Strike, a real-time strategy take on the series. It's expected in October across the US, and Sony reckons we'll get our hands on it here before the end of the year.
SOCOM stands for United States Special Operations Command, don't you know, and has provided the inspiration for Zipper Interactive to create numerous games for Sony's consoles. But it appears that Slant Six will be the creative force behing the new PS3 project. Poor old Zipper.
SOCOM: US Navy SEALs - Fireteam Bravo 2 is due out on PSP on 15th June. It's a follow-up to the 2006 title that we found to be really rather enjoyable.
Head over to our Fireteam Bravo review to find out more, soldier.

Why is it that in 2005 MS said that we'd be downloading full games in the future, and that a next gen disc drive won't be needed yet it's Sony who put a next gen disc drive in their next gen machne is the one who's taking the initiative.
That's messed up man.

S3 was a huge disappointment, waiting over a year for a patch.

A freaking great cheat filled lagfest is how i remember it.
Fun in a kind of "there's nothing else online worth playing" way though
