New Mass Effect Achievements appear

Arena/Fight Club DLC imminent.

Three new Achievements have appeared for Mass Effect, which suggests the long-promised DLC is imminent.

The Xbox website (spotted by Joystiq) attributes 50 Gamerpoints to each Achievement, taking the game's total to 1200 (Bring Down the Sky added 50).

The Achievements are: "Undisputed - Complete Ahern's survival mission"; "New Sheriff in Town - Take first place in any combat scenario on Pinnacle Station"; and "Best of the Best - Take first place in 12 combat scenarios on Pinnacle Station".

The latter two certainly support the "fight club" or "arena" idea that BioWare said was in development earlier in the year.

BioWare had been poised to announce new Mass Effect DLC recently, but blew mysteriously cold again after an apology by community manager Chris Priestly for jumping the gun.

Keep an eye on the official Mass Effect forum for a full announcement. It can't be long now.

Damn, I must get around to finishing Mass Effect....can't even remeber why I stopped. I was having a great time doing stuff then all of a sudden.....Oh I know I went back to WoW. Hate you Blizzard...love you really.

Maybe they'll give the PC players the patch we were promised for April too.

BDTS was terrible - uninspiring, short and about as much depth as a puddle. Where are the 'new worlds' we were promised? Instead we get another identical grey rock in the middle of nowhere. Mass Effect never lived up to its promises and this DLC won't either.

I hope it's bigger than Bring Down the Sky. Not that it makes any diference, I'll buy it anyway.

BDTS wasn't great but I'm hoping this will be at least half as awesome as the full game. That will do me.

If this is good, will tie it into my pre-ME2 catch up/final achievement gathering.

The big problem with mass effect DLC is that you have to start the game again to play it. Unless that's what's taken them so long!

I'll have to play through this again for the cannon paragon ending.

Its a pet peeve of mine, people who call Bring down the Sky "Bringing down the sky". The article even calls it by the proper name. Is it so hard to tell the difference?

Or, alternatively just load up a save file from before. Pity for those fools who only use one save slot.

Oh goody. Unless this is the best DLC in the entire history of the universe, I won't be bothering. Maxing out Mass Effect (getting a character to level 60) has totally crushed my enthusiasm for any more of its combat. Sorry, Bioware, the vast majority of people aren't going to sit around for years waiting for DLC.

As for Bring Down the Sky, I enjoyed it. It was eerily beautiful (the gorgeous blue planet looming ahead in stark contrast to the asteroid, the glowing red horizon as bits snapped off, and the huge, ominous fusion torches) plus it provided an excellent villain.

I hated the guy, and indeed the Batarians. He was so convinced that the Batarians were the injured party that I willingly sacrificed the hostages to ensure he'd never commit another atrocity like this again. And when the fight is over, slowly shooting holes in him as he protests and then leaving him to slowly die of his injuries was incredibly satisfying.

Quite good timing as I`ve only just got around to playing Mass Effect, and I`m only just in to my second run through as an evil character.

Bit late, I won't get into this if I don't get into the full game again. And seing as the new season is starting I have enough to play already. 2 months ago I would have started it at once.
