LittleBigPlanet on PSP Store today

Despite US digital delay.

Sony has told Eurogamer that the PSP version of LittleBigPlanet will be uploaded to the PlayStation Store in Europe today ahead of the game's retail release tomorrow. It will cost £21.99 online.

The news comes after US gamers were told they would probably have to wait a little while for LBP due to "hiccups", in the words of senior producer Mark Green on the US PlayStation blog. The game came out in shops there on Tuesday.

Green said Sony was "currently working around the clock to get this issue worked out". In a separate statement to Kotaku, SCEA said, "The goal is to have the titles available on the same day, and that is usually the case."

The wait should be worth it though. LittleBigPlanet is one of the best PSP games in ages.

Great news for PSP only owners. PS Three version is a bargain at 9.99 and one of the best games on the system.

Correction, "...one of the best PSP games since GTA Chinatown Wars, a couple of weeks ago." Keep up Tom

Hmm, I wasn't expecting to see this here after reading the news about the US delay. It'd be nice if this change were reflected in future releases, but I'm still dubious.

All well and good, but why would you want to buy an expensive limited use version of the game, when you can just buy the UMD online for less than £18

And costs £17.99 on various online sites. Who cares if the digital download price is cheaper than RRP, when there are so many ways to get it cheaper (legally) than both?

This means it's not out for me yet, since I use a US account for my PSP purchases, the price in dollars is always way cheaper than the one in euros, so I'll just have to live with this minor inconvenience and wait a little longer.

This is shit. Totally shit. How do we make digital downloads cheaper than the boxed product? How on earth can they justify charging £2 more than an online retailer?

And for rest of Europe, 37 euros on the same online store... Yay. I guess I'll order it from UK, and be patient, simply.

I am pretty amused by the Shopto ad right beside the new item selling the game for £2 less. Thing is, I might actually still get the online version. The UMD drive on my PSP has stopped working. :p

I read that this game takes up approximately 1.4 GB memory if downloaded from the store. Can anyone confirm this? Please?
I really want this but my memory card is a 4GB one. I want to be 100% sure it will fit!

I wonder if created levels can be downloaded and then played when there is no Internet connection later on. I'm guessing no. Still I do love LBP on PS3 and this sounds brilliant as well.

Got LBP yesterday, but haven't tried it yet (ACII, R&C, Tekken 6 and PES 2010 - too many games to play right now). Looking forward to new levels to try out.

Also, US Store had both Resi 2 and Soul Reaver - good stuff!

edit - Randomterrain - 1332MB to be exact (if memory serves me right)

By pissing off retail? That would be very smart of Sony indeed.

Cheers Zebula77. I've got it, and you're right.
