Leaked GAME schedule hints at big dates

COD7, Bond Racing, MGS Rising, Fallout...

Call of Duty 7 and DJ Hero 2 are both due out in October, according to a leaked GAME Xbox 360 release schedule obtained by VG247.

The schedule also lists Crysis 2 and Metal Gear Solid: Rising for 24th September, Brink and Guitar Hero 6 for September, and Fallout: New Vegas, The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf and James Bond Racing for October.

Interestingly, there's also mention of "Yoga Natal" for October from Tradewest, which could be an indicator of Project Natal's release target.

In the meantime, the schedule says we'll get to play Activision's Raven Software-developed shooter Singularity on 28th June.

We're contacting the various publishers mentioned to get some reaction to the dates, most of which we imagine will take the form of "we do not comment on rumour and speculation". We'll let you know how we do!

Update: EA has said it can't comment on the Crysis 2 date at the moment.

Update #2: Konami has gotten back to us about Rising: "No release date has been confirmed for Metal Gear Solid: Rising as of yet."

Update #3: And here's Activision: "We cannot comment on rumour or speculation."

MGS Rising in September and Fallout New Yegas in October...

    Nice!
  • Mkwone #2 2 years ago

James bond racing sounds immense. Never did play it on the ps1. although i'm sure these are just provistional dates as most online shops put down a release date even when theres no chance of the game being released then.

Whoops. Someone in Game is currently packing their belongings into a cardboard box. Along with a P45 shoved up their ass.
  • Verminox #4 2 years ago

    God dammit no GT5 date.

Edit: Nevermind, didn't see the xbox games title :(

    Crysis 2 September \o/
  • Bealsy #7 2 years ago

    @Verminox - it's probably just 2010 releases ;-)

Just when I thought gaming season was over, another comes along.

    Rising and Fallout for me.

    @Verminox

Of course there woudn't be a GT5 release date in there, its a list of xbox 360 games only.

But of note you will see "Haze" is TBC-2010.

Since the witcher - white wolf was cancelled a while ago, I don't think this schedule is reliable.
  • bodypopper #11 2 years ago

I've spent many sleepless nights over the years wondering whether there would ever be another James Bond racing game.
They might as well just mod Split Second and call it a day.

"The schedule also lists Crysis 2 and Metal Gear Solid: Rising for 24th September"

For most 360 owners that means just started playing Halo Reach so i think october for MGSR and November for Crysis 2 would be better personally.
  • Murton #13 2 years ago

GAME have said previously saying that their in house software requires all products to have a release date so that they can take pre-orders and whatnot, likely that these are just GAME guessing at reasonable months for release so that they can get them logged onto their systems.

As noted above Witcher: White Wolf is cancelled and if you go on GAME.com you can even pre-order "Heist", IneXile's Getaway clone that was cancelled back in 2008. So until the publishers in question announce the real dates I'd be inclined to treat these as nothing more than estimates.
  • tomjoadsghost #14 2 years ago

Blastworks 360 is news in itself isnt it?

I love the fact that the transformers game isn't just tbc, but 'date confidential'. I dont think i understood previously just *how* important that game is.

This is ridiculous, the schedule isn't "leaked," you can go into any Game store in the country and ask to see their release schedule and they will hand you a folder with this exact document in it. When you ask a member of staff for the release date for any future title this is the document they go to.
  • cianchristopher #16 2 years ago

Why bother with Guitar Hero 6?

It's not like Guitar Hero 5 can be radically changed, is it?

Can't they just keep it at 5 and expand the game with DLC? The fucking sequel will be exactly the fucking same...

Nice to see Microsoft pushing the boundries with "Natal yoga" or whatever it's going to be called, what's that you say? It sounds a bit like Wii fit? Nonsense! It's a totally unique input device that will blow your minds with it's...umm, camera based awesomeness!
  • darleysam #20 2 years ago

kingheff, are Microsoft publishing that, then? Or developing it? Because I like how you're blaming them for it.
  • el_pollo_diablo #21 2 years ago

    Yoga Natal?

Will the edition for mums-to-be be called 'Pre Natal Yoga Natal'?
  • ParanoidZombie #22 2 years ago

Yoda Natal would be a more exciting game.

    ...

... Nah, that would be crap.

Call of Duty 7? What happened to 6?

World at War is COD5, right? Is Modern Warfare 2 also COD6 or...? That's just plain stupid.
  • marmaduke #25 2 years ago

FACT: every game that Raven Software has ever released is mediocre. This goes right back to Heretic.
  • zuljin #26 2 years ago

Why dream? Its available for preorder from Amazon.
  • woodnotes #27 2 years ago

Nice to see Microsoft pushing the boundries with "Natal yoga" or whatever it's going to be called

If you'd bothered to read the article, you'd realise that it's not a Microsoft game. It's from TradeWestlol.
  • lordofthedunce #28 2 years ago

Call of Duty 7? What happened to 6?

    @Jmog

I'm guessing this is just GAME's placeholder, marking the place of the game in the series, rather than its title.
  • chessboxer #29 2 years ago

Crysis 2 - could be sweet. Do I get it for my uber PC (which may no longer be uber by the time it comes out, seeing as Intel just released the Core i7 980X) or PS3?

COD 7 - Get it for the SP. Meh to the MP.

MGS: Rising - Will this become a hack and slash/action adventure like the new Castlevania? Kojima will no doubt tell all at E3.
  • captainrentboy #30 2 years ago

I'm a manager for Game and our release schedules are a bit of a joke, the dates only become truely accurate once they've already been announced to pretty much everyone in the industry. If the people who put out our release schedules don't know the exact date of a title's release, it just tends to go down as some random date a good few months down the line, hence all the massive titles being released in September.... This is a non news story folks :)

  • kingheff1 #32 2 years ago

"If you'd bothered to read the article, you'd realise that it's not a Microsoft game. It's from TradeWestlol"

Whilst Microsoft might not be publishing Yoga natal I have seen people defending Microsoft for not being interested in "me too" shovelware for Natal. Which Yoga natal would seem to be.
  • influenceuk #33 2 years ago

GAME's release schedules are never 100% though, and looking at the images they are not set in stone.
  • TheTingler #34 2 years ago

As several people have noted, don't listen to any of these. Game are usually the last to know when it comes to getting release dates for games! And at least one of those games were cancelled!
  • Machetazo #35 2 years ago

Natal (paint with) Yoghurt, or no sale.
  • ObiChrisKenobi #36 2 years ago

I wouldn't take a GAME release schedule as gospel. They'll be predicted dates chosen so they can create a SKU to take pre-orders.
  • riz23 #37 2 years ago

Sod Yoga. Kama Sutra Natal. Now that's a fucking game! Literally.
  • GaryHoward #38 2 years ago

That's a change of date for COD7, the last three COD games came out on a November schedule, it would be nice to play COD a month early then usual. Can't wait for Fallout: NV and Brink (the CG trailer is awesome). We had a guest speaker from Bethesda at my university, talking about Fallout: NV and Brink and to clarify on their behalf, there is never going to be a Elder Scrolls 5 - sorry peeps. :(
  • AnsemsApprentice #39 2 years ago

Why the smeg would they announce there being no Elder Scrolls V to, rather than the millions of fans and major gaming media, a bunch of students. Aren't Bethesda just publishing Fallout NV anyway? Surely Obsidian know more about the game they are making.
  • GaryHoward #40 2 years ago

@ AnsemsApprentice Firstly, I study a Game Cultures Degree (game design, context, theory, etc), so that explains why we get people from the games industry to talk to us and he was mostly talking to us about how marketing and publishing works in the game industry because the guest speaker Rob Bartholomew is the European Branch Manager at Bethesda Softworks and he's such a cool guy.

We had a Q&A after his lecture and the very last question asked was whether they was going to be a Elder Scrolls 5 and he said it's not happening basically. And publishers usually know as much as the own developer does about their own game, etc. He didn't go into too much detail about Fallout: NV anyway, so don't go overboard dude.
  • dr_faulk #41 2 years ago

    @GaryHoward

"he said it's not happening basically" doesn't pass in my book! What exactly did he say?

This is probably the worst news I've ever heard, in videogamedom.
  • AnsemsApprentice #42 2 years ago

I wasn't questioning him being there, I just thought it would be quite unprofessional to say "The Elder Scrolls V Isn't happening" to people in Uni rather than people like...well, me, who own every Elder Scrolls game on every platform. It's quite annoying to hear it like this, not from Eurogamer but from GaryHoward. I wasn't having a go at you, I've been waiting for any snippet of news on the game. Just contradicts everything the media was saying in October 2008 saying it was coming out in 2010 and all that business. Ah well. Atleast Fallout is amazing. dr_faulk sort it out *Cries*

  • schnide #43 2 years ago

Never going to happen is a little different from not happening..
  • dr_faulk #44 2 years ago

    @Ansems

Late bloomer - only played Oblivion. Genuinely my favourite game of all time. I do think it's rather unusual and unprofessional for somebody to blurt out the news like that. I can only believe that they're already working on it, it's 50 times deeper, and looks better than anything out there.

Just keep telling ourselves that. =/
  • GaryHoward #45 2 years ago

Sorry Ansems *sad face*, I'll be in my room crying because I upsetted every Elder Scrolls fan in the forum including you. I won't write anything like that every again, as everyone took it too literally.
  • AnsemsApprentice #46 2 years ago

@dr_faulk Well maybe Bethesda aren't doing it is what he meant, that sounds more likely than not at all, considering how many copies the series has sold. It sounds like they passed the Fallout 3 sequel onto Obsidian because they were the original creators but, maybe they will be doing the Scrolls games from now on aswell...Looking at Fallout New Vegas I don't think thats a bad thing atall. Or it could be like the Call of duty series, Bethesda do one, Obsidian do another. It was Oblivions 4th birthday last saturday though, that's a long time. Maybe it is over. Epic.
@GaryHoward. "there is never going to be a Elder Scrolls 5 - sorry peeps"
HOW ELSE CAN I TAKE THAT lol. I am seriously going to go Daedra on your ass *Draws sword*
    Edited by 2 at 26/03/10 @ 21:35
  • GaryHoward #47 2 years ago

@ Ansems: I don't think Bethesda are developing anything anymore, period. They have converted into a publishing company after Fallout 3, that's another thing that guy told us. Fallout: New Vegas is going to be awesome though.

You go Daedra on my ass, I'll go all-mighty Sheogarath on yours! :D

"Call of Duty 7? What happened to 6?

You seem to accept that MW1 was COD4, or you wouldn't be calling World At War COD5. Yet you have a problem with MW2 being called COD6?

    That's just plain stupid.

Crysis 2 going head to head with Halo: Reach?

If they really, truly want it to sell on consoles, this a dumb move.

Erm, have you seen all the me-too shovelware lined up for release on the PS3 Move? One of them is a port of a Wii party game, ffs!
  • monkie_king #57 2 years ago

@darkeysam: yeah, James Bond Racing is a mario kart-style racer. It uses Xbox avatars, and you get to pick between the different James Bonds for them to ride on — Connery, Moore, Brosnan etc. There's rumoured to be George Lazenby as DLC.

Tracks will be based around the usual casinos, secret bases etc. Power ups take the form of shaken martinis, fine cigars, walther ppks, and other clichéd masculine signifiers from the 195
  • Mosphaiti #58 2 years ago

lol, this isnt really a leak, its just in the release date folder which is kept under the counter, used for when customers ask when a game is coming out, so you could just go ask someone in your local store and this is what they use to tell you :)
  • VibratingDonkey #59 2 years ago

That James Bond racing game is an actual thing? I thought people were joking about that. That's so very a decade ago.

I'd take any release lists at this point with a huge pinch of salt. Nothing is ever set in stone months ahead anyway, things change. Always in motion is the future.
