Latest Borderlands DLC on Live now

PC and PSN following tomorrow.

Following yesterday's minor delay, The Secret of Armory of General Knoxx for Borderlands has gone up on Xbox Live.

The Armory costs 800 Microsoft Points (£6.80 / €9.60) on Xbox 360 and will cost $9.99 when it comes out for PC and PS3 tomorrow, 25th February.

The pack picks up at the end of the Borderlands story and pits players against the Atlas Corporation's "deadly, death-dealing badass, General Knoxx". Fortunately you will be able to bust through the previous level cap on your way to facing him.

You'll also be able to enjoy some of the benefits of the corporation's weapons stockpile along the way, and knowing Gearbox and Borderlands it will be an interesting journey for other reasons besides.

Look out for our review of The Secret of Armory of General Knoxx imminently, and in the meantime check out our takes on The Zombie Island of Dr Ned and Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot.

    Borrowed it from a friend, loved it, but simply didn't have the money to buy it at that point. Waiting for a GotY.

    I bought Borderlands for £17 before Xmas and it's the best £17 iv ever spent on a game,other devs should follow Gearbox's model with DLC every pack so far has been great value for money.

    Downloaded it last night. Played a couple of rounds with a mate. 'Hard as nails' is what it is. Still made lvl51 in a couple of hours.

    Hmmmm there is a lot of boring driving in the early section, still it's nice to be able to level up.

    Gearbox are certainly doing their DLC the right way from what I hear, the main game stands up well against anything from last year without it too.

    Just waiting on any of my co-op buddies to spring for these and then I'll grab them myself, though it'll likely take a special offer or bundle to entice them.

    Secret Armory of Amanda Knox?

    Trailer looks awesome. Certain purchase for me.
  • muscleblade #7 2 years ago

    Its long lasting, challenging, filled with humour, and better than both previous DLC and even the main game. 800 points is a steal. This should have cost 1200.

    I bought this last night, but took forever to download, didn't try it. Watched 4 episodes of Halo Legends meanwhile and I can't recomend it enough. One of the episodes called "The Duel" is breathtaking. Better, emotionaly stronger than Animatrix. Very stylized art though, miles away from Halo as we know it.

    @Miiguel

    Halo Legends is a curious little piece but not quite essential viewing for either anime or halo fans imo.
  • miiiguel #10 2 years ago

    @ muscle: Well, it is for me. I'm a superlative guy (I'm not tribal, though, so I'm not confortable with either labels), I give you that. Fucking loved "The Duel", finding out more about its director.

    Downloading as we speak !
  • TeaFiend #13 2 years ago

    Started it, seems a bit slow to start. Drive drive drive. Still, looks likely to improve and shower me in lots of loots.

    I don't know muscleblade, as a pretty big anime fan, I'm definitely interested in anything that Studio 4c put out. I haven't watched Halo Legends yet, but after Batman: Gotham Knight and The Animatrix I'm expecting to like some of the animes/shorts more than others. Mindgame, from Studio 4c, whilst unconventional, is one of my favourite anime films of all time!

    On the topic of this DLC, very much looking forward to getting to play this, sounds great, but really need to finish the main game with my 3 characters - playing with several friends, all at different stages at the mo :/

    Edit: stupid typo correction breaking my grammar...

    @MasterNameless
    Its worth watching for sure, just not essential imo. Its good but not great thats all. 7/10 .

    This Borderlands DLC is essential if you enjoyed the main game. 9/10 so far. The level 60+ boss monster is a tricky one.

    Tomorrow there will be an article with the headline "Latest Borderlands DLC on PSN and PC now", with a regurgitation of most of the info from todays article.

    The (Horse) Armory?

    Probably won't be worth it :)
  • Lamb #18 2 years ago

    I think they should have waited to release DLC on a next gen system because the 360 is terrible. No built in wifi and very slow downloading for Mass Effect 2, not to mention its loud fan. :(
  • Mark1412 #19 2 years ago

    Yeah hear that Gearbox, should have waited five years, the 360's fan is too loud and Mass Effect 2 downloads are slow!
  • muscleblade #20 2 years ago

    @Lamb

    Congratulations! You won the prize for the most ridiculous comment ever. You have unlocked the ability to use the word "idiot" as your username on this site.
  • TeaFiend #21 2 years ago

    @Lamb:
    surely a slow download would be the result of you having an inferior internet connection?

    And I doubt people would buy DLC for an old console in several years.
  • Lamb #22 2 years ago

    360 is showing its age. Charges money to play online vs PS3 in addition to what I already said above.

    DLC is a hassle because without wifi I have to bridge or buy what essentially is a router for a 360. They should have waited for a next gen system to introduce DLC or just released on a PS3 which does have wifi built in and does not make it ridiculous to connect.

    Oh and all the saves are locked so can't transfer them back and forth on a usb stick unless I want to go around the world in 80 days with an xbox! :(

    @muscleblade Thanks for the rare honor of sharing an achievement! :p
  • miiiguel #23 2 years ago

    Yeah hear that Gearbox, should have waited five years, the 360's fan is too loud and Mass Effect 2 downloads are slow!

    ahah, priceless.
    Do you hear Gearbox, listen to mr. er... Lamb?, don't release DLC on the 360, the fan is too loud, do it on the PS3 because it has built-in wifi. Mass Effect! Stuff! Lol!

  • Lamb #25 2 years ago

    Yes miiiguel what a delightful declarative statement you made, you should be a politician! :p

    I didn't say stuff anywhere in my posts above.

    @ Lamb: you're not familiar with technology are you? There are so many clever ways of trolling. Trolling evolved since the '80s, you know.
