Iwata to "show" Wii Zelda at E3
Plus: new Pokemon, Wii RPG this year.
Nintendo's Satoru Iwata has promised to finally reveal the new Zelda game this summer.
Iwata, straight to the point, told investors during Friday's financial briefing that, "We will show the new Zelda title for Wii at E3 this year." He added that the Wii Vitality Sensor and games for it will also be announced at the show.
He also revealed a few new titles heading to Japan this year on Wii and DS.
Top of the bill is a new DS Pokemon game - the first in four years. Iwata gave this no name but said there will be "various unprecedented experiences" within.
There's also a new "full-scale RPG" on the way to Wii called Xenoblade. This will be developed by Monolith Software and Tetsuya Takahashi. You may have known this project as Monado: Beginning of the World. Metroid: Other M will be released this summer on Wii in Japan, and Mistwalker's Last Story and Super Mario Galaxy 2 will appear later in the year.

I knew... I just knew that there were a couple of good reasons for hanging on to my otherwise unused Wii. Hopefully we'll see the games in Europe this Christmas.

New Mario Galaxy, awesome. (Never finished Galaxy 1 though)
New Metroid, awesome. (Haven't played Metroid Prime 3 yet though)
So, a good year for Nintendo, a good year for games.
Triple Nintendo marathon in the spring, and triple Nintendo marathon in the fall for me then?

I thought the sub-title was referring to a Pokemon RPG (in the same vein as the main handheld Pokémon games) headed for the Wii.
It has really been 4 years since Pokemon Diamond/Pearl was released? Wow!
While this is all great news, I am sadly disappointed.

But getting a new Metroid and Mario Galaxy make me very excited. I hope Team Ninja do Samus proud.

Given the history of sex abuse in that organisation. A bj probably isn't that improbable...

Over the last week, I've bought for the Wii:
- A Boy and his Blob
- Warioland
- MadWorld
- No More Heroes
- de Blob
- Bully
- Boom Blox Bash Party
- Zack and Wiki
These are all what I would call 'hardcore' games, not to mention 'fcukin awesome' games.
Good good year for the Wii!

@crazyhorse
no okami came first on PS2 but i have a feeling they may have known at an early stage zelda was going to have a wolf in the game and what with the development time being much shorter may have beat zelda to the shelves. Given Zelda was delayed to launch the wii rather than releasing straightaway on the gamecube. I dunno though tbh.

So Okami had a shorter dev time than TP and it was still the better game? Shame on you Ninty...

STOP THAT! You're giving me goosebumps all over again! That sentence led to the greatest moment in video game history ever. Ever!
What followed was so so, but that moment... man...

Structurally though, Okami was clearly using Zelda as a gameplay template. So ultimately it is Okami that is the "rip-off". Still an awesome game though.

Which one was that? 2008?
- A Boy and his Blob 2009
- Warioland 2008
- MadWorld 2009
- No More Heroes 2008
- de Blob 2008
- Bully 2008
- Boom Blox Bash Party 2009
- Zack and Wiki 2007
Anyway, great news about the new Zelda being shown and hopefully Metroid: Other M, Last Story and Super Mario Galaxy 2 will make it over here before the end of the year.

Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3 are also must haves in my opinion (see if you can get the Metroid collection if you haven't played the first two on Cube).

This is why selling your hardware before the end of a generation is a bad move.

That i'd quite literally piss my pants for. Why they've not done a "proper" 3d pokemon yet is beyond me

it is above and beyond me why nintendo hasn't made an MMO-RPG WoW type pokemon game, i think thats the only game that would take me off the WoW addiction

Seriously though, they are already making a killing from the 2d ones. To Nintendo, there is no big enough incentive at the moment for them to take any unnecessary risks, especially since they already have diamond encrusted toilet papers for their janitors.
Maybe on DS2 they'll finally move to a full on 3D adventure MMO. And I'm guessing their incentive then will be a nice phat $ubscription model so they can upgrade to a full on diamond toilet papers. Now what business doesn't need that?

But maybe the Wii is starting to pick up with in-depth Nintendo games, ironically as most third-party developers abandon the console.
