H.A.W.X. 2 dated

Takes our breath away.

Flight combat sequel Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2 will be out on 3rd September, Ubisoft has confirmed.

The date was announced at a preview event yesterday. Our very own Dan Pearson was in attendance. He got to muck about on a real-life airfield, which made interviewing quite difficult.

Developed by Ubisoft Romania, H.A.W.X. 2 sees you assume the role of a member of the ultra-secret H.A.W.X. 2 squadron.

"You are one of the chosen few, one of the truly elite. You will use finely honed reflexes, bleeding-edge technology and ultra-sophisticated aircraft – their existence denied by many governments – to dominate the skies," says the official blurb.

Trailer is below.

Having just beaten the first one recently I have to say it's a little empty and flat even with the general Tom Clancy world links which I actual like.

Ace Combat seems to do better with it's fake worlds but then the do have the ridiculous super craft which would jar a bit in the future realistic Clancy world I guess.

Still maybe I'll give it a go anyway

We need another Helicopter Sim, like Gunship... Planes seems so boring, you can't hover and take out enemies, you always have to move... not my cup of tea.

Liked the first and would have given the sequel a chance actually. DRM took that chance away though Ubiscum...

/ waves goodbye to yet another title purely over Ubiscums choice of customer "service"

I have a strange yearning to buy UGGs....

All joking aside, I never understood why they kept HAWX so arcade... You didn't even land or take-off... Ever. You were teleported in and out of the plane, alwasy in mid-air...

Only played HAWX a little bit because the demo made my XBOX crash. Nonetheless I may still pick up the first one on the cheap though. What I really want is a new Ace Combat, the games are amazing and the plots are as well, I want to go fly with the angels.

ace combat is on another level to this

HAWX SUKD. Ace Combat did everything far, far better. Air-to-air combat, ground attacks, story, and wow - giving you the option to take off and land (I had some great moments doing a very sharp approach to land at one of the forward bases to re-arm in the middle of a mission).

@Xeopuppy: There's an attack helo sim coming from the guys who did the port of IL-2 to the 360, that should fill that niche quite well!

    @bad09
i would not worrie too much about the ubi DMR, you can buy the game then get the unoffical patches to bypass the DMR
