First DLC for IL-2 Sturmovik released

Play six more missions and fly a new plane.

The first batch of downloadable content has been released for World War II flying-fighter IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey.

It's available via both Xbox Live and PSN, and includes six extra single-player missions. You also get a new plane, the American P47D.

The pack will set you back 400 Microsoft Points (£3.40 / €4.80) or $4.99.

    "Play the six missions that were chopped out of the retail game to be sold as premium DLC!"

    Sorry but I'm such a cynic! ;)

    If I remember right, the download is about 170kb, so it must just unlock stuff that's already there.

    If that's the case, it really takes the piss.

    I still think it's a great game, but overall the single player campaign felt a bit short. Saying that, I only completed iit on arcade so far so it still warrants a proper play through.

    Yep. Already on the disk, as are the P-47 AND Ta-152 (2 planes y'know). They were special pre-order bonuses in the US, but not in the EU. Bit daft, considering there's an "unlock all aircraft" Achievement/Trophy. Seems the Ta-152 will rely on a future update to unlock properly too.

    Funny thing is, the devs had little say in this, and has been put wholly at the feet of the publisher.

    Still, a great game, unfortunately beset by too many lil' bugs and problems for the masses.

    @EG: It's 800 M$ Points, not 400.

    @oldschoolsoviet: Both of those planes were available as a pre-order bonus from GAME.
