Rein has been busy in preparation.

Mark Rein has told Eurogamer that Epic Games has "something new to announce at E3".

"Yes we will have something new to announce at E3," said Rein, before apologising that he couldn't say anything more until the event. "And I'm looking forward to seeing the show back to its former glory."

Epic Games is currently working on Gears of War 2 expansion Dark Corners, which will be released worldwide on 28th July.

That, presumably, is well under way, if not finished - and for a developer of Epic's size that means lots of twiddling thumbs - unless they've been busy making something else.

We may hear more this afternoon, as Microsoft kicks E3 into life with the first of the three platform-holder conferences. Join us at 6.25pm BST / 10.25am PST for our live coverage. It'll be hard to miss.

I think Epic is going to break new ground with their next game.

Please let it be Unreal 3. I miss the Skaarj, and I thought Unreal 2 was great.

EDIT: I have a feeling Unreal 2's protagonist was bald, too.

EDIT 2: Damn. Looking at the front cover, he has a tiny bit of hair.

I don't care what they announce as long as the sucking bastards mouthed around about PC dying as a game platform. They are so fucking retarded not to realize that they themselves, being one of the most looked-up-to developers, have a heavy word in the platforms' future. If Epic says that PC is their platform of choice, millions of people all over will consider upgrading their PC. They are either very very stupid to have understood the market the other way around, or there was a big tip going in their underwear when they went out and said that.

Btw I just bought UT3 and am still waiting for the PROMISED Linux client, Ryan Gordon do you hear? Lay off the damn crack.
