Double Agent PS3 details

Two maps, co-op extras, plus new shots to check out.

Ubisoft's PlayStation 3 version of Splinter Cell: Double Agent will feature a pair of new maps based on new environments, a new set of co-operative challenges and a new spy character.

It's all part of Ubisoft Annecy's push to try and get people talking about the PS3 Double Agent, which - even as a day-one title - will be arriving five months later than its Xbox 360 counterpart.

"Because the solo campaign already forms a whole, we thought it was more relevant to focus on the multiplayer additional content," producer Mathieu Hector explained when we spoke to him.

You can check out the first screenshots and "spygirl" artwork elsewhere on the site. Double Agent PS3 is also expected to take advantage of the Sixaxis controller's tilt sensor.

    Looks rather fugly. And that chick doesn't really match the whole splinter cell realism theme. Looks too futuristic, more metal gear.

    I would have thought some sort of comment along the lines of "why bother focusing on multiplayer, ps3's online will be shit compared to live", surely?

    It's quite strange how the biggest bit of PS3 news for some time has only just managed to get more replies than that bit of news on Halo 3's weaponary a few days back :/
    What does that say about the whole situation then?

    Actually, most PS3 threads are inundated by people who say they hate the machine, but cant quite keep away from threads relating to it.

    Why would anyone who's interested in the PS3 post in these threads when they are all saturated with posts from a mentally crippled cunty club who seem to spend twice as much time circle-jerking each other about how much worse it is than the XBroke PleaseFixMe as they do playing actual games?

    I suppose it gives you something to do while you wait for MS Customer Support to deliver somebody else's broken machine to you, pretending it's a refurb, again.

    It's the REAL NEXT GEN!

    Those screenies look like they are from an aging mid-range PC or something. And the 'girl agent' (oh please) looks totally silly TBH.

    To be fair, those screens are mostly from the online levels which do look far, far worse than the single player game. Though it matters little to me seeing as I've finished the game twice.

    I could have got this on the PS2 for Christ sake which offers BC.

    And is even cheaper than the X360 version, if I passed the chance to get it then...

    I haven't been waiting for a next gen at all, I've got enough upcoming and unfinished games to last me for at least two years, by which time MS might have made a console which doesn't break every 6 months and Sony might be asking a sensible price.

    Unlike desperate little grubs like you I don't have to constantly defend a decision to buy into faulty hardware that spent most of it's first year with only tarted-up, stripped-down PS2 ports in its library. I'll wait till the hardware is cheaper, more reliable and has a bigger library of actual next gen games available and let chumps like you do the Beta testing.

    The fact that if I bought a 360 I'd most likely end up having to listen to attrociuous little shits like you swearing like a spoiled 5 year old every time you get killed online is the reason I'm slightly more likely to end up with a PS3 though.

    I guess noone in here is that stupid to understand what that means right? You wont end up getting a PS3 cause of me but thats what you want and it's your right (to be stupid.. ). I think I am way older than you so you can have the right to tell me anything like what you told me. Plus... Who the fuck told you that me or anyone else in here actually cares why or if you would even get a PS3 or not? Are you that stupid or what? If you want to keep this up with me I can deal with it in many ways. if you don't want to keep posting against me that way I can answer to you differently... There it goes:

    Good thinking on waiting for the price drope but next-gen games are already out even if not many. Now letting me try out GoW is what you think. I'm actually enjoying it.
