Conan 360 "still very much set to happen"
In 2009, but PC still dominant focus.
Funcom has told Eurogamer that an Xbox 360 version of Age of Conan will definitely be released.
"The Xbox 360 version is still very much set to happen and we are working on it," said Erling Ellingsen, chief horn-blower for Funcom.
"However, there are no dates set, even though we aim for a 2009 release. Our big priority now is, of course, the PC version and fixing the issues with it and improving it for our current players."
Work began on the console MMO in December 2006, but was put to one side during the run up to the PC launch in May this year.
The plan was to follow with an Xbox 360 version of Age of Conan roughly 12 months later.
However, observers speculated that the amount of work needed to keep the PC community playing, plus the perils of the Xbox Live platform (certification for patches - eek!) meant Funcom may not bother with a console version after all.
Contrary to this, Age of Conan was shown being controlled by an Xbox 360 pad during Games Convention last month. This is the work of Blue Orb and clever PC application SwitchBlade, though.
Funcom is currently testing an upcoming PvP rewards patch for Age of Conan, which will offer the best battlers impressive equipment sold from specialist NPCs.

Fucnom: finish the PC version before you start thinking about a console version.

I can't see Xboxers being too bothered by this game either, not worth a sub.

After no less than 8 or 9 (out of memory) crashes today alone on the PC I think not.
Also, the PC version currently occupies 25.4GB of HDD space, just how can we fit that onto a 360 HDD, ok, lets use low res textures and even more instancing. Not happening.
Oye 360 owners. DO NOT fall for this tripe.

Nothing Age of Conan is happening. It's dying. And it was stillborn.
I do wonder at the people who stay there after their initial free month. Would they even know a proper game and gameplay if it up and bit them on the arse?
Can EG cut the lifeline to Funcom now, please? And can they do a serious re-evaluation of the game that approaches thruthfulness?
To any MMORPG'er looking for a new realm to wander in this autumn: There are many, and better, choices: WoW with it's Lich King expansion (not my cup of tea, but well made as usual), Warhammer, while it may have bugs at the start, should not be fundamentally broken, and holds a lot of promise, and also Aion and The Agency should be worth looking into.
This was not the Hyboria you were looking for.
P.S. First edit for spelling, and second for the fact that I forgot that the brilliant MMORPG that I myself am playing; LotRO, gets it's very own expansion in form of "The Mines of Moria", and should be highly attractive as well. *slaps forehead*.

I have re-subbed to AoC this week, but using a pre-paid card wot I bought on the cheap.
Earlier this week I suffered only a couple of crashes a day...woohoo! Progress!
Today, after a wee update I managed around 8 crashes to the desktop. Bloody annoying and not something ANY 360 game can be allowed to do, therefore I say there will NEVER be a 360 version, unless there's a suited man at Funcom who can convince them the initial sales would far outweigh the backlash. There probably is such a man.
As a fan of RE Howard's Conan I hope AoC comes good, on the PC at least.

They tried to counter that by introducing quests later that forced grouping due to being so ridiculously difficult, but it didn't really work as everybody was so focused on just getting their "10 Kills to Win" that you'd wind-up being deserted by your "team" the moment they'd completed the required number of kills, as it was such a pain to kill the mobs in question and - by that point - those who were done wanted to leave.
