Videogame film maker Uwe Boll has responded to Michael Bay's claim that he's a "sad being" who is "screaming because he is not being heard" by challenging him to a boxing match.
In a message to Bay posted on YouTube, Boll says that he found Bay's comments "very insulting because I care about him" before inviting him to put his fists where his Internet forum posts are by fighting him over 12 rounds "in September or October, pay-per-view, Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas".
Boll also said that "with the money [Bay] has for his movies, he sucks big-time".
You can judge for yourself who is the better film-maker by checking out their respective CVs. Boll takes a lot of crap for his work on House of the Dead, BloodRayne and Alone in the Dark, but then Bay is responsible for Bad Boys II and Pearl Harbor.
Please note: we're not saying Michael Bay is responsible for what happened at Pearl Harbor. That would be silly.
Bay is currently working on a sequel to Transformers (oh good) and Boll is promoting a film version of Postal, which is due to launch in the States next month.

@ He may be a twat, but he's kinda got a point.
say what you will you can't deny Bays films at least have character. I think Bay does get a bad wrap sure there is Pearl Harbour and BB2, but Transformers, The Rock, Armageddon, The Island and BB1 were all good cheesy blockbuster movies. He is very I love USA but most of Hollywood is anyway. |

I hate Boll's movies as much as the next guy, but I kinda like the attitude.
When in argument, let 12 round of boxing sort it out. How cool would it be if all differences were solved that way. Clinton vs Obama. Myamoto vs Phill Harrisson (well, not anymore now) Saoudi Arabian men vs Saoudi Arabian women Clinton (Bill, this time) vs Lewinski Bush vs Bin Laden Some blu-ray official vs some HD-DVD official Greenberg vs Mayor Neslon (or some other 360 rep) Even at the local front, I could come up with some great fights. Beware neighbors! |

bay makes some good movies, i liked transformers, i have high hopes for the second, i actually loved bad boys 2, if he sticks to what hes good at, its all good.
On the other hand, pearl harbour was.... Moving on, i'd take bay ANY day over Boll, who completely ruins the perception of games in the movie world. Boll is a total cunt, who buys a licence, then makes the biggest, shittiest movie he can, just to write it of for tax reasons Hate boll, hate him with all your powers! |

Well, I doubt that either of these two directors is going to see their work consecrated in the Sistine Chapel any time soon, but as much as people knock Michael Bay, he does at least sometimes make films that some people might like, which is something that Uwe Boll could not reasonably claim.
I also warmed to Bay a lot since seeing this advert he did, where he demonstrates a basic level of self-awareness/self-deprecation. Boll, not so much. |
