Asteroids on Live tomorrow
Steroids. Mm.
Microsoft has told us tomorrow's Live Arcade treat will be a double pack containing Asteroids and Asteroids Deluxe.
This rocky offering could be yours for 400 Points (GBP 3.40 / 4.65), and takes you back to the olden days of vector graphics as you blast your little spaceship around and break up enormous asteroids as they hurtle towards you.
Deluxe is the sequel to Asteroids, and both will come HD visuals with a high-speed "throttle monkey" mode to make things a bit trickier - plus the usual Leaderboards to climb and 200 Gamerpoints to earn.
Look out for our review of Asteroids soon.

There's been some of the best releases in its history over the last few months. Games like Exit, Undertow, Puzzle Quest, Speedball 2, Switchball etc etc
This is the weakest release and the first crappy retro release for a very long time

Everything else, though? APPALLING. Really, really bad. If I'd shelled out 400 points looking for groovy updates on a great concept, I'd be absolutely livid right now. Fortunately, I only wanted a Mameport with a highscore table I can pwn, so it's merely extremely disappointing.
