Age of Conan available on Steam

Second MMO joins Valve service.

Funcom's dark fantasy MMO Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures is now available on Steam at a discounted price of USD 44.99.

It's the second MMO to be made available on Valve's digital distribution platform, after everyone's favourite space politics simulator, EVE Online.

Funcom has already made the game available for download from its own servers, bypassing the need to pick up a boxed copy.

Funcom recently detailed some forthcoming updates to Age of Conan to reassure players that its currently "thin" content would be fleshed out.

However, we're still waiting for the first of these - an overhaul of the game's player-versus-player combat system.

You might want to wait for the 360 version - which Funcom is working on for a 2009 release instead.

Make it 15$ with 5$ monthly fee and we might consider your paid beta software Funcom :)

with the upcoming expansion i wouldn't still call this a "paid for" beta - ive started playing again and im amazed how much has improved over the months.

    Probably *only* 25GB to download.

its a beast - what with patches and all. They've started padding out the game with more spoken dialogue too. By the time they finish its gonna be a 50GB install, easy.

$45. Tempting, but i reckon i'd abandon it for good once WoTLK comes out :(

Don't go near it, it's still painfully unfinished and most players have dumped it already.

The PVP patch was promised for June and for such a pvp focussed game should have been out on release really. Yet here we are in September and it still isn't even out. They were promising alliance keeps an all manner of other things out in autumn, all of which turned out to be bollocks.

I know people who even went back to play Planetside, such was the disappointment with AOC.

    "Probably *only* 25GB to download."

and the tragically hilarious thing is that for 25gb or so.. the game is still tiny compared to other mmos, unfinished, linear, instanced up to the eyeballs, thin on content and missing a pvp sytem...

when the rest of the game that should have been there at launch is ready it'll prob be double that lol.

Good thing, the boxed copy was outdated a week after launch, with patch upon patch...
