Grand Theft Auto Online micro-transactions spotted

Buy lumps of in-game cash with real-world money.

GTA5's upcoming multiplayer mode Grand Theft Auto Online will include the option to buy dollops of in-game cash for real-world money.

The details were spotted in webpage data for the game's online store (spotted by Reddit). The packs are not currently viewable in-game, but are on Rockstar's website in a publicly viewable XML file.

Four options will be available when Grand Theft Auto Online launches on 1st October, images of which have also been extracted.

The Red Shark Cash Card will give $100,000 of in-game money, while the Tiger Shark Cash Card nets $200,000. The Bull Shark Cash Card equates to $500,000, and finally the Great White Shark Cash Card will grant $1,250,000.

What amounts of real-world cash these equate to is not stated.

"Cash is king in this town," each item's description reads. "Solve your money problems and help get what you want across Los Santos and Blaine County with the purchase of cash packs for Grand Theft Auto Online. All purchased cash is automatically deposited into your character's bank account. Spend wisely, cash therapy is fleeting."

Special Edition and Collector's Edition content is also listed on the store, suggesting that these will also be made available for purchase.
