Original story: Braid creator Jonathon Blow's upcoming game The Witness will be a timed PlayStation 4 exclusive, as was announced as Sony's PlayStation event tonight.

Described as "a game about epiphany," The Witness will be open world, but Blow emphasises how compact it will be. Despite this condensed design Blow suggests that the game will take at least 25 hours to complete.

He then debuted the first trailer for The Witness, which showed off its Myst-like lonely island of peculiar puzzles and otherworldly contraptions. The sunny setting was full of light-panel puzzles that would influence the geography of the island by forming bridges and opening up doors and whatnot.

Our Chris Donlan poked around with The Witness way back in 2011. Given that it's a new Jonathan Blow game, it's not surprising that he seemed bewildered by it in his preview.
