Fez racks up 100,000 XBLA sales

Acclaimed indie platformer does the business.

Labyrinthine indie platformer Fez has now sold over 100,000 downloads on Xbox Live Arcade.

Creator Phil Fish broke the news on the official Polytron site via a cute piece of art.

Fish recently aired frustrations on Twitter over difficulties getting XBLA sales data from Microsoft. It seems the platform holder has finally come through.

Every one of those sales is deserved - Fez is one of the finest releases this year, indie or otherwise.

"The game's unique artwork, its perspective-shift mechanic, its nostalgia for the 16-bit years and its bewitchingly strange setting all exist in total harmony and make a single, deliberate statement," read Eurogamer's 10/10 Fez review back in April.

There's still no official word on if, or when, the game might make it to other platforms.
