Heavy Rain: Director's Cut announced

DLC, soundtrack and bonus content bundled in.

Heavy Rain: Director's Cut launches in the US for PlayStation 3 on 8th November, Sony has announced.

As well as the original game, the re-release includes the following extras, as listed on the PlayStation Blog:

Heavy Rain Chronicles: Episode 1 - The Taxidermist DLC
Original videogame score by award-winning film and television composer, Normand Corbeil (16 tracks)
New front-end menu and interface with built-in Move support
A series of eight "Making of" Bonus Videos
Three Dynamic Themes (Heavy Rain, Heavy Rain ARI Forest, Heavy Rain ARI Mars)
15 additional pieces of new concept art
Two bonus trailers (Thank You trailer, Love trailer)

We're chasing Sony Europe now to see if a UK release is planned.

Quantic Dream's crime drama originally launched back in 2009, picking up a 9/10 from Eurogamer. Tom Bramwell's Heavy Rain review has the details.

As owner of the Move Edition, I can't see anything listed for the DC that isn't included with the Move. What's new for the DC? Have any of the 'scenes' changed?

Have they fixed the horrendous screen tearing as well as that completely put me off buying the game when I tried the demo? It was just so distracting IMO.

What the deuce? This is the bloody move edition repackaged. If I remember correctly there were more addons planned then the Taxidermist, now if they would have included something new it would be worth it.

I just wish whenever a GOTY or equivilant edition was released they would make the DLC free for those people that have bought it new for a higher price! but that doesnt happen and they seem to want to assume everyone has a pre owned version and wants to "lock them out" of things.

Will pick this up @ some point but in no rush with a huge backlog of games on different platforms growing by the week.

Heavy Rain is the best.
I ditched my original copy for the Special Edition containing Official Sound Track, Chronical 1 (playable scene) and a 3D Rain effect on the box.

I don't own Move, so the Move release wasn't of interest.

This new Directors Cuts don't interest me either.

They should focus on creating more DC

For those who missed the article at the time the game's director had said that due to being "encouraged" to add move support by Sony, Quantic Dream was abandoning their plans for future DLC in this game.

Really a bad move imho

Doesn't seem like much in this pack to warrant a new purchase of the game. I'll get Fall Out NV Ultimate cause it has a lot of extra game content in the form of DLCs and will be nicely patched up (I assume!).

Pointless re-release is pointless.

Looking at this all you get is a new main menu screen and a possibly a couple extra making of vids, will have to compare to my LE later to know for certain. Extra themes alone aren't enough to make this worth it and will likely appear on the store if they aren't there already.

While I love Heavy Rain and think everyone should play it at least once, I don't think re-packing it every year is the best way to achieve that, the best thing to do would be to expand upon it.
