Euro Oblivion 5th Anniversary Ed date
Kvatch it while you can.
Bethesda has confirmed the Oblivion 5th Anniversary for Europe. It will be released on 23rd September for £20 on PS3 and Xbox 360, £18 on PC.
European PR manager Alistair Hatch confirmed the date on Twitter.
Inside the Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition is the Game of the Year Edition of Oblivion, which contains DLC add-ons Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine.
Also in the box are a Making of Oblivion DVD and a colour map of game world Cyrodiil and the Shivering Isles.
A Skryim video is thrown in as well.
The Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition doesn't come in Steelbook casing in Europe, but it does in the US.
Oblivion was the fourth Elder Scrolls game and is the predecessor to new game Skyrim. Eurogamer's Oblivion review awarded a modest 10/10.
Shivering Isles.

You missed your chance, Bethesda. Even though I own it, I would've happily bought it a few weeks ago for the steel case, and making of DVD. Now you've released it when the big hitters are starting to drop, so thanks but no thanks.

Still plays well, and stacks of fun just picking random dungeons to raid. The levelling system sucks balls though - hopefully Skyrim uses a more fallout-ey system. I mean, in Obliv you don't get xp for any quests for anything - you could finish every mission and never level up, the only way to level up is to increase major skills by 10 points. It can really mess up the game by making it too hard or too easy due to how you level up. Ironically anything you want to specialise in - you're better off picking it as a minor skill.
I tried having acrobatics as a major first time I ever played and since you're always running and jumping - the skill went up like a motherfucker and I levelled up so fast - which of course made enemies harder, yet my acrobatics was at 80 whilst any offensive skills were back down at like 25 - I wasn't gonna jump them to death!

I'll probably still buy it, but it'd be a nice Brucey Bonus.

Oh, right, yeah, cynical marketing to try and rinse pennies out of the four people that haven't completed this already. Bastards. Just give me Skyrim early.

Yeah, so either Game have it wrong, or EG do.
Though i'm more inclined to believe Game as they've no doubt got the info straight from the publisher.

In the US you get a steelbook case that some people like to collect and a money off voucher for Skyrim, that release has a point, but the EU release just seems a little half arsed. But then we're still waiting on the EU release of Shivering Isles on PSN, so i guess it's not unexpected to see them mess this up as well.
