Portal 2, TF2 and Spiral Knights supported.

Steam has officially launched its new Trading feature today following last month's open beta.

Thanks to an auto update which has just gone live, you can now trade Steam Gifts and in-game items from Team Fortress 2, Portal 2 and Sega adventure Spiral Knights with other members of the Steam community.

Valve is apparently working with other developers to incorporate the service in their games, with further announcements expected over the coming months.

Wasn't expecting to see Spiral Knights in there already. My hat selection is pretty slim, but I do have some spare games from various bundles. Probably the same ones as most people, just like it was with stickers.

As an experiment, here's my inventory. Seems your guest passes are private by default, so remember to check that if you want to show off what you have in stock. I already have Defense Grid and Half Life 2 though, but maybe there's a trend to be started.

It's obvious they will let you trade hats and items in TF2, but I wonder how they are going to use this with Portal 2. Because you can't find items (only buy) in portal 2 (yet?) if I am not mistaking. Maybe the new upcoming update will feature this? I don't know, correct me if I missed something.

@Golgo - I believe people already trade hats and weapons with each other sometimes for actual cash in TF2 but they never had an official channel to do this and could result in problems, arguments etc. you know how addicted gamers get lol

I think though a bit of a novelty (like hats) to some people, to other members of the community this is awesome

In actual fact I've just remembered I have gift copies of Half-Life 2 and Left 4 Dead to get rid of
