OutRun Online Arcade dev grows.

Project Gotham Racing and Blur lead designer Gareth Wilson has found a new home at Sumo Digital - maker of OutRun Online Arcade and SEGA All-Stars Racing.

His old home, Bizarre Creations, closed on Friday.

Wilson will take up the post of chief game designer at Sumo, according to CVG.

He becomes the first of Bizarre's cut-loose top brass to declare his future.

Makes it less likely that an MS/A.N.Other startup studio was going on behind the scenes, which is a bit disappointing. But it's good that they've started to find work.

Isn't this the problem with studio closures though?

I seem to remember on the last round of this type of thing people were saying that the top dogs will always find employment, if only for the attraction of their name, whislt it is the junior/mid level guys that struggle.

Too bad it's just one guy. A new Outrun or PGR co-developed by Bizarre and Sumo would be absolutely brilliant.

Isn't Microsoft looking for someone to take over the PGR series? I think I remember a newspost here on EG and there were a few users here who said they'd love for Sumo to take over. Now would be the perfect chance - but as I said earlier PGR is definitely more than just this one guy.

In my optimistic little brain, I'd always hoped Sumo would be the studio that MS chose to continue the PGR series whilst Bizarre were in Activision's evil clutches. Hopefully this appointment adds further credence to this.
