Blizzard hopes for 2011 Diablo III launch
Pardo: "That's our goal."
You'd get long odds, but much-anticipated action RPG sequel Diablo III might just see the light of day before the year is out, developer Blizzard has announced.
When asked by Kotaku if a 2011 release was on the cards, Blizzard VP and World of Warcraft lynchpin Rob Pardo offered a slither of hope.
"We really, really hope so. That's our goal," he explained.
"Our goal is to get there. But you know, at the end of the day, we are going to get it right. That's more important."
"We're going to promise, we're going to get it out there when it's awesome. And, we're crossing our fingers, maybe it will be this year."
Earlier this week Activision-Blizzard CFO Thomas Tippl confirmed that, in the event that a new Blizzard game didn't make it out this year, there would be at least two titles on shelves by the end of 2012.

(Besides, I really want to sink some time into Diablo 3 before that massive solar flare hits Earth in 2012-2013.)

C'mon, Diablo 2 was released in June 2000 ! More than 11 years for a sequel ? We are on DukeNukem levels here. I can't wait to play the game, and look forward to some awesome gaming parties with my friends, but a hype machine that goes on for years and years is just... boring.
Get the job done asap please.
