Xbox 360 online patch next week.

On 27th October fantastic downloadable game Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will finally be playable cooperatively online.

On Xbox 360.

PC and PS3 owners will have to wait. Again.

How much longer, Crystal Dynamics' tweet didn't say. "PS3/PC coming later, stay tuned," was all that was mentioned.

To say sorry for taking so long, Crystal Dynamics will hand the first of five planned DLC packs out for free. To everyone, we assume.

We're don't know what exactly is in each pack, but we do know the first three are based around adding new areas to explore, whereas the final two introduce "well-known" alternative characters to the game.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light was an experiment for Crystal Dynamics. A small team made a cooperative adventure (playable by two people locally since launch) as a spin-off to the pillar Tomb Raider series. The gamble paid off in abundance. Eurogamer awarded a massive 9/10 and everyone went bonkers and took their clothes off.

Pleasantly surprised by what I thought would be an absolute shocker of a game - best local coop experience I've had in years and the game looks stunning to boot. Why couldn't they ever get this much talent into an actual Tomb Raider game I'll never know...

Don't care about characters. I just want new levels. And / or an arena challenge mode that spawns waves of increasingly hard enemies. Maybe something that sets you a specific weapon each time (otherwise it's golden shotgun all the way).

I would pay for those things.

my friend bought this and gifted me a copy on steam to play on co op. unfortunatly, he did not know the co op was delayed. We have so far logged in 2 minutes and won't play it untill the online patch. a little frustrating

The local co-op on this is outstanding. It's a great game all round, forgot it was even going to have online co-op so I guess it's a nice bonus! As is any free DLC!

Quite a bit of an oversight not having online co-op on the PC. That's how most PC co-op games are played.

Also, the control scheme on the PC is a bit messed up if you don't use a controller. Almost too many buttons to press at times and, sadly, you can't switch weapons by scrolling.

Spekingur: apart from the fiddly grapple, I disagree. The Aim button is rendered utterly unnecessary, as the normal mouse aiming is perfect - as good as Alien Swarm. Apart from the lack of online co-op, which is needed, the PC version is the best.

Well, okay, also apart from not being able to jump in any direction easily.

A shame the co-op's taking so long, but a nice treat with the free DLC, as long as it's not for the Xbox owners simply because they're getting the mode early.

Now, if only I could find where to buy a bikini with free shipping, life would be complete...

Fantastic game. The lack of coop meant I played couch with my girlfriend and we thoroughly enjoyed it. First DLC for free is great news too.
